Default Need Buying Advice

Hi all,

I received a quote for a 2011 Auto - Touring - Sports (Gun Metallic) 370z for 35,400 + ttl.

How much is the room of bargain. Tax is close to 8%.

Does not include mats, kick plate, etc.

Thanks.

Not a bad deal...about $500 below invoice. If that is their original quote, I would come back with a lower number like $34,500 and work your way towards $35,000. The dealer may not budge on the price, but its worth a shot

Thanks for the reply. This is an initial quote over email. I personally feel that this is the best quote for this spec of car. Since this is an initial quote, I personally feel that there is a room for negotiations. It never hurts to try. To get a confidence are there any strong points you think, that would be useful, and sound substantial to low down price.

I cant really think of any "solid" reason to ask for less money at this point since its a brand new model and everything. I also just realized that you are getting the Gunmetal Metallic which is an extra $500, so your deal is really good already. The only two things I can think of are:

1) Tell them that the price is a little high and you are still considering cars X, Y, or Z (I told the dealer I was looking at used 335i's/135i's and Mustang GT's).
2) Get pre-approved from your bank/credit union and let the dealer know that you are ready to buy today! Also, you can use the pre-approved rate to get the dealer to give you a better rate. Of course, this assumes you are financing some or all of the car.

Agree with all.. Have a approved letter of credit in your hand which puts you in the drivers seat In terms of the price, below invoice is a pretty good deal, but when you meet face to face w/ the dealer , you can definitely negotiate a little.. since they know you are serious and ready to pull the trigger.

good luck

It turns out that according to the dealer, he quoted me the price for Touring - Sports in an error. He is quoting the same for 39K OTD.

Also it turns out that both the Touring cars were sold (one with Sports and one without). I don't take all of this. Its all trick to bring me to dealership. Otherwise I would have looked for a better deal elsewhere.

I went to the dealership, and made him offer for 35K OTD for a Touring model. He came down to $36200.

How much low would the deal go?

I also think that there is a good room he can drop down the price too.

What should be the approach?

39K OTD is way too much, as someone said before for even 2011 u shouldn't pay more than invoice

What is the price before TTL? That makes it easier to figure out the deal since the tax rates are different everywhere.

I guess the price before the TTL would be $33,500 for the Touring (on his lowest quote).
I did not talk about the price before TTL. Because I wanted to stay away from the addons, which comes as a "surprise" pre-installed on the car, which dealer forces after price is set. Hence was asking for OTD price.
