I got the touring with nav and love it. If I had to do it again I think I would get touring with sport though. I wish I had the differential and the sports brakes that come with the sports package and doing them after market is def going to be more than $3k. At the time the extra $3k seemed like it was out of reach, but in retrospect the extra $3k would have effected my monthly payment negligably and still have been very affordable. This was my first time buying a brand new car so I atleast have that learning experience over with. Oh well, I am still very happy with my purchase/decision.
tldr: get them both! |

It was easy for me to decide. I'm going to replace everything that comes with sport package within the first three months of owning the car. So Im going with base model.

Sports package you should definitely get. Touring package comes down to personal preference. I'm a whore for luxury options so to me it was well worth it. I use the heated seats all the time and the Homelink with the garage door opener built into the mirror is sweet. The seats and fake suede door panel inserts are also a nice upgrade. I have touring with sport package and nav system and I couldn't be happier.

In my opinion, I would rather get the Touring option over the sport package (and I did) because I plan on replacing most of what comes on the S/P in the first place. Also, the leather seats and suede door inserts upgrade the interior to a whole other level completely over the base/sport interior and is absolutely worth it. But, it boils down to what you are looking for in the car as the sports package gives you a lot of bang for the buck if you are going to be happy with those parts over the aftermarket.
The only things I wish I had from the sport package are the 19" Rays and the Akebonos, the rest I can do without until I get aftermarket equivalents.

The Sport package gives you rims/brakes/gets rid of the 1 wheel peel. Worth it. |

I have touring with sport package, I didn't want the touring at first, but after I set in the Z with the touring with nav package, I couldn't stopping thinking about it. I mean, the leather seat, and the nav system are very nice to have......and my sales person gave me a very good deal for the touring with sport +nav package.

I agree the Nav option is overpriced these days, but you do get more than Nav - you get the Music Box, you get better iPod/CF control, you get better settings control, nicer environmental settings display, another trip computer, and GPS Nav. The integration is very nice, though sometimes I wish I had the nicer 2010 display - the 2009 display is a little sad compared to my iStuff.
And once I install my NavTool/backup cam, the Nav will be even nicer ![]()

Wow! Thanks for all these helpful responses (and I'm sorry I did not find the earlier thread before I sent mine). I tend to get over-theorectical, so I found a '10 370Z to test today - a manual touring without Sport package. Since, I have previously tested on Sports packages, I "felt" the difference. I like the sport features. I may be mixed up, but, as a novice, I think the Sport package gives me an added confidence; especially when punching it. I may have to wait and find a low mileage '10, but I think the touring with Sports gives the best combination for me. If I can swing it in the next 3 days of the year, the dealers are giving good breaks on what they have in stock.
Thanks again for your advice and opinions. JB2 |

Touring with sport package is the best of both worlds. Also, you can pretty much get a really good deal depending on where you live and how much Z's are selling in your part of the neighborhood. Do not let them push you around.
For me, I do not need any audio for that matter. I do not care for power seats, leather, etc. I do like tracking. = Nismo. I think it would have been so cool if Nissan did what Suburu (04-05 STi) and Honda S2000 CR have done which is to have audio as an option. Without the audio, slap on an oil cooler instead and make the Nismo a true hardcore track car like it was intended to be. |

A 370z with a touring, navigation and a sport package retails for 41k. A 370z with just a sports package is 34k. If you take the Navigation off, it is only a 5k difference and would of been a better comparison.
I Apologize for the over-dramatics. The touring package is a nice package. I would of preferred to upgrade with a after-market stereo/nav system. I would add a oil cooler and pocket the difference. Most dealers will put heated leather seats in your car for less than $500. Everyone has their own taste and budget. |
