How much did the dealership pay for this?

No, no, no. Dealerships usually give you about $2,000 below LOW kelly blue book. So if the low KBB is $26K, they'll hit you at 23,500-24000. If you agree to

No, no, no.

Dealerships usually give you about $2,000 below LOW kelly blue book. So if the low KBB is $26K, they'll hit you at 23,500-24000. If you agree to their 'trade in' value, then they'll turn around and try to mark it at HIGH KBB. And it's room to negotiate if you're trying to buy it. They rarely let you have it at what it cost them. If it sits too long at the lot, then the used car manager will trade to another Nissan dealer, or any dealer in general, that has a high demand for it. So if it sits for 6 months at XYZ Nissan, but it doesn't get any serious bites, then the used car manager will sell it or trade it, for something that is a hot seller, be it a Nissan Maxima, Honda Accord, etc., to another dealer.

If you can get it for low KBB with CPO, then that's a bargain. If you can get it at mid KBB with CPO, you didn't do so bad. If you get it at high KBB with CPO, then you should've negotiated harder. They're not gonna let you take it without them making a dime. Think about it: If you ran the business, you wouldn't let customers do that to you. So don't be so cheap and expect something unreasonable.

If that doesn't work for you, then buy private party.
