I shot it with a sony alpha DSLR... but i think you can get this effect with any decent camera. It's all about the post-processing in Photomatix 3 - what I did specifically was take 3 exposures (one normal, one under- and one over-exposed) and combined them into one image, then played with some extra settings to create the effect you see.
