No lol my credit blows. I only have a score of about 540 and I have not much history along with alot of small dents on my record.

FLUJOKE 11-26-2014 04:30 PM

Whoaaaaa just saw its a 40th for 23k that's an awesome deal man. U need to get a cosigner and but it right meow. Idk y ur credit sucks but if u can't do this then don't!

hurahn 11-26-2014 05:43 PM

czirrfb 11-27-2014 11:20 AM

Yeah man, plus I dont really want the 40th it has alot of extra stuff that adds weight. I wanna get a base model that is the lightest, I will just save as much money as I can and hope/pray I get a nice compensation check from this lawsuit im in.

czirrfb 11-27-2014 12:34 PM

So here is the deciding factor.

I will be paying an extra $200 per month in overall bills in owning this 370 over my 350z.

And I will have a high apr for at least a year.

Do you think its worth it to get this car and pay an extra $200 per month in bills? Or Should I stay debt free and have no car. And save about $700 per month in bills that I wont be spending on owning this car.

Mitco39 11-27-2014 12:51 PM

As much as you probably dont want to hear this, its never fun owning debt. I would if you have to get a beater and look to get a car in the spring when you are better situated. Your call tho

So would you say being debt free and driving a POS beater and saving money is better than being in debt but having a 370z and not really saving much money?

Mitco39 11-27-2014 01:16 PM

Absolutely.

Whats your plan if you purchase the car, and a month later your roommate moves out? Your cutting it pretty tight. Atleast if you had a bit of a cushin in savings you would be better off. Again just my thoughts, if it was me id probably do the stupid thing and get the car, but standing outside looking in like this I would suggest not to.

czirrfb 11-27-2014 02:07 PM

Dammit your right. Im going to have to suck it up and just not be a 370z owner. Which isnt too bad I guess, I mean I barely drive that much anywas, 80% of owning that vehicle it will just be sitting outside parked getting dirty.

ssmoked 11-27-2014 03:18 PM

If I were in your financial situation, I would just get a beater and sell it when I have at least 10k for reserves. You can prob sell the beater more than you paid for it, doubt you can do that with the 370. I also don't think getting a motorcycle is a good idea if you ever want settlement from pain and suffering. Insurance company with try to screw you over in all possible ways.

At the end of the day, a car is a depreciating asset, don't go in deep debt for something that keeps on losing money.

Regarding the interest rate, a salesman will tell you anything for your signature. In a year your APR prob drop by half a percent, then what are you going to do? And don't forget any refinance fees.

The best way to build credit is getting store credit cards and use it once a month and pay it off right away.

Just my .02 from my finance background

czirrfb 11-27-2014 03:23 PM

Well what sort of beater car do you guys suggest? I dont wanna spend over $4,000.

ssmoked 11-27-2014 03:53 PM

Civic

victort 11-27-2014 03:59 PM

civics and corollas make great beaters

czirrfb 11-27-2014 04:10 PM

Ugh im gonna be so embarassed driving around a beat up old civic for a year, but it will be worth it so I can save $ for a real car....

Its like ill be 16 again, im 25 now, id like to progress with my life and get a sweet ride. My very first car was a 1996 honda civic.

victort 11-27-2014 04:20 PM

Andddd that's why most ppl in America are deep in debt... Sigh

ShutokuZ 11-27-2014 06:48 PM

Bro, first and foremost, I am glad you were able to walk away from that horrific incident. That other person should be locked up for a long time for what they did to you and I applaude you for dealing with it the way you are. Also, still being relatively young and able to recognize that buying a 370 can put you in a financial position that could go south quick, is a good thing.
Now, you don't have to be ashamed about driving a "beater" for a year or so, to get your life and finances in a good position. Before I got married, I sold my cherished Evo IX and bought a beater to save for the wedding. I only spent 3k on a Honda Del Sol and drove it until I got married. It was crappy, but did have 202whp:)
Anyways, do what you need to do now, so you can do what you want to do later.....

That seems way too low for 12' nismo. Rebuilt title?

edliaszenik 11-27-2014 08:08 PM

Definitely not a typical deal though. Just saying there are deals out there.

czirrfb 11-27-2014 09:38 PM

Today was a crappy day. I decided to buy a bike off craigslist, I found a nice looking one for $180 it seemed ok, so I rode it around a bit, then stuff started falling off and the back tire broke.

So there goes $180 down the drain, looks like I wont be biking it to work....

Yeah I only live 4.5 miles from work, and Phoenix weather is pretty nice. So I thought riding a bike for a while would be a solid option. Looks like I will just have to use the Uber app. Its gonna be like $10 for a ride to work according to the app.

Scrounging every month to make the car payments is NOT going to be a good time. Anxiety about paying your bills is not a quality way of life...especially if you can avoid it. There are plenty of fun cars out there in every price range...don't **** up your life to satisfy your vanity.

There is plenty of time for you to save your money, and upgrade your life. I didn't get my Z until I was 29.

vividracing 11-28-2014 11:10 AM

You can get a pretty decent car for 4K in the Phoenix market. I have been looking around for a bit too, and ive seen some nice cars for around that price range. When you look, look in the 5K range, because you can always haggle and get the price down.

Fortunately my father is a manager of a Chrysler dealership out in California, im going to have him try and find me something from the auction or if they get a crappy trade in I can get it for what they bought it for. I just need a ride to last me about a year to get enough money saved up and fix me credit.

Im praying I also get a decent sized compensation for this guy who tried to kill me and ruined me life. Enough for a good sized down payment would be great! But I know im going to have alot of medical bills that will need to be taken care of first, luckly he had insurance and so do I, so that should soften the blow. The ambulance ride alone was $1,332! I was in the intensive care wing for 3 days and spend another 4 days in the regular section of the hospital in bed.

I was given 2 IV's and had several scans/xrays done of my head I was also give a prescription for medication and also given staples in my head and they were removed 2 weeks later. I then had a scan done from a 3rd part MRI company who is sending my lawyer a loan that they will have to pay from out of the $ we receive from his and my insurance.

I think its safe to assume all this medical stuff is going to be a LOT of money sadly. I just hope there is enough between my and the guy who hit me insurance so I wont end up owing anybody. My sister is guessing that in total the medical bills will be around $40,000. Because my medical insurance from my job does not kick in until Dec. 2, so at the time of the accident I did not have medical insurance. All I have is my body injury insurance from geico which I think covers up to $15,000

Mitco39 11-28-2014 03:07 PM

Wow, as messed up as our medical system is up here I am glad we have it for things like that. Our system is great for life critical emergencies, its the non so critical ones that it fails so badly its not even funny.

Hope it all gets sorted.

czirrfb 11-28-2014 04:08 PM

Found some more pics with some good memories with her =/ last mod I installed was a JWT Pop Charger intake, a week before the accident, it sounded great! Everyone I showed my car to didn't believe me when I said it was an 03 because it was still so clean and modern looking.

Yeah, medical bills are going to suck! Luckily theres no real time frame you have to pay them by, so you can at least spread it out a bit.. Have you thought about renting a car? I did that for a little while when my truck got stolen, and it wasnt that much more than what my truck payment and insurance was. I think i was paying like $550 a month for the rental. I have a corporate discount program that i could get you through my work. If youre interested in doing that PM me and i will see what the rates are. At least you'll have a brand new car to drive around.

For that much I might as well buy that 370z lol the payments would have been $448 a month, less than a rental.

Sadly, this is my new ride. Ill see how long I can use it to get to/from work until I can save enough to buy a beater for cash.

Its just an easy thing to do if you need a car fast. You dont have to worry about looking, coming up with the down payment, and all that. Even if you just kept it for a couple weeks to figure out what you are going to do, it wouldnt be a bad idea. Just trying to help

Oh I appreciate the help! =) I think my best solution is to use the Uber taxi app, it says it should cost about $10-$13 for a ride to work, so basically $50/week for rides. Since a co worker can take me home, I wont need to worry about having to use Uber to get home.

vividracing 11-28-2014 04:28 PM

Ill only charge you half that to ride on the back on my bike
