Hopefully this down time and depression and being car-less will be worth it down the road.

because it shows how much damage is done and what your compensation for the future will be. also lawyers have mortgages too...;)

try to find out what the other drivers policy cover first, and have your lawyer find out how much he is worth, in assets. then pursue every cent that fvcker owns for trying to kill you with his car

My bad luck streak continues. I was riding my bike to work at 6am and almost got hit by a car pulling out to the street and I fell and hurt my ankle and messed the bike I just spent $310 on up.

czirrfb 12-03-2014 12:31 PM

Im in the process of having my dad try and get me a POS trade in car they wont make much $ on at his dealership and try and sell it to me, so at least I can finance a beater car and it wont cost me much and ill have a way to get around. But hes out in CA

njobe89 12-03-2014 12:48 PM

better get a bicycle and start peddling to cali

czirrfb 12-03-2014 02:55 PM

Fortunitally my sister also lives in AZ and has a car so she could take me over to CA to see my padre and pick up my beater car

czirrfb 12-03-2014 03:49 PM

UPDATE: I guess he was or currently is in the military and my lawyer told me that Geico is going after his insurance (USAA) for $ to get back for the money they paid me for my totaled car.

ShutokuZ 12-03-2014 03:52 PM

That is good news my friend! USAA is very easy to work with and is a standup company. It could have been that his parents were in the military, as the benefit can transfer to spouses or family members like kids. Good luck!

czirrfb 12-03-2014 04:35 PM

But hes 28yrs old would his parents insur still cover him at that age?

I think my dads wont cover me past like 25yrs old. He is retired military.

He wouldn't be under their insurance any longer, but USAA extends coverage to family members, even under separate policies.

czirrfb 12-03-2014 04:39 PM

IM (assuming) hes in the military (or was) because when I google his name the results along with the fact he has USAA makes me wonder.

But either way this is good because he could have been some low life guy with no job or insurance who got away, it could have went south in so many ways.

czirrfb 12-11-2014 01:51 PM

UPDATE: So my lawyer told me today she promises I wont have to pay anything for my medical bills and she will get her and me money. And she will make sure I get paid compensation.

kenchan 12-11-2014 02:13 PM

ahh... so this is why you were looking for a car. sorry to hear. hope things work out for you in the money side of things.

General life rule- when lawyers are involved, do not post anything about the situation online until said situation is settled and the check has cleared.

you're on fire today.. someone put this man out, he is burning!!

czirrfb 12-11-2014 03:37 PM

Ok fine. I wont update anyone on this situation anymore until its over. I just thought you guys wouldnt mind hearing the updates as I get them. Im obviously hoping to get a 370z and it would be nice to be able to get one in the end when all is said and done. My 2nd option was the honda, something a little more realistic for me to afford.

NOOOOOooooooo ... not a honda!!!! :icon14:

jpkirk 12-11-2014 04:23 PM

How about a beater 300zx?

UPDATE!:

So the dealer keeps bugging me about buying the 2010 40th edition 370z.

He says hes able to get it for me for....

-$2,000 down.
-$380/month (about $100 more than I was paying for my 350z per month)
-Around 8%apr

I will say I want it for $23k out the door or in not interested.

Should I got for it?

EDIT: Funny thing is, this is the EXACT car they are selling, looks liek a member posted it for sale on here?

What's the term on the note?

I am unsure, I have to go down and speak to the dealer today. He just called me. They are even giving me 30 days to turn in the $2,000 I can sign and drive away today.

It seems they a are having a VERY hard time selling this car. Its been at their lot for a LONG time.

 That's one of the most important details. It's how they can agree to your terms and still rape you. Don't finance a car for more than three years. If you can't make the numbers work on a three year note you need to buy a less expensive car.

czirrfb 12-14-2014 09:10 AM

Well I imagine the term is 72 months. He says I can refinance after 1yr to get the apr lower. I can totally afford this car. Its only going to cost me $100 more than what I was paying for my 350z per month to own. I can easily spare an extra $100 per month.

Cost of 350z ownership was...

-car payments $255 per month
-Insurance - $150 per month
-Gas around $80 per month (I dont drive much)
-Having to fix constant issues due to it being an 03 DE model $alot

If you have to take out a six year auto loan you absolutely cannot afford this car. Stop looking at the payment and start thinking about the total cost.

czirrfb 12-14-2014 09:29 AM

I can "afford" this car. I make enough. My credit sucks ***, which is why I have to go 72 months and a higher apr. I obviously plan to pay it off much faster.

According to an online loan calculator. With 8% apr for 72 months it should be around $5,500 in interest over the term for $23k financed and $2,000 down.

6MT-Z34 12-14-2014 09:29 AM

8% APR is a lot, i'm not sure I would be comfortable paying that much in interest

czirrfb 12-14-2014 09:34 AM

Yeah I know, I know my best bet is....

-Buy a POS car for around $4,000
-Drive it around for a year
-Fix my credit and save $ in the process
-Get a used 370z in a year with a lower apr

If you can afford this car, then you should have no problems making the higher payments that come with a responsible 36 month note. Buying a vehicle on a six year note is a bad move. The length of the note is more a factor of getting the payment down to the point where you think you can "afford" it, not your credit. But go ahead, no one has been able to tell you anything your entire tenure here. Go ahead and pay almost $30k for a 2010. That kind of thinking is probably why your credit sucks.

If you were smart, you'd buy a car cash and build your credit so you can buy cars without 8% apr.
