Yep. Isn't an EVO that boxy looking 4 door with a wing about as high as the roof that I see people driving like they are extras in Fast & Furious ? Who makes it ? Subaru or Mitsubishi ?

It's funny how hypocritical some people on here are. They hate on the frs/brz but hate being hated on by some of the Porsche people and the comparisons of the Z to the cayman.

Porsches are better in damn near every possible way. I don't understand how somebody could get mad about a fact.

Not true. I could have bought a Cayman or 911 over a Z.
Most people here could have.
Why didn't you?
1. Because Porsche engines are not known for their reliabality. Try to find a 911 or Cayman with over 100,000 miles. I ASSUME the Z can do 300,000 without issue.
2. Unless you go to new Cayman, the 06-09s have IMS failure issues. Good luck with that....
3. When I test drove one, the dealer started it up, and a big cloud of smoke came out of it. The things are honestly pieces of under-engineered ****. They're great the first 3 years. After that, throw it away or get a $6,000 extended warranty.
4. The Cayman looks like a girls car from a lot of angles.
5. The 911 is HUGE. The thing is as big as a minivan.

I wouldn't buy a cayaman or an 991 and Porsche motors aren't unreliable. Porsche has one of the lowest warranty claims per 100 vehicals out of any auto maker aside from Lexus from 2010-2014. So the only 911 that I can't think of that had an unreliable motor was the 964. And I didn't buy one because well I'm a z nut.

I've never met a 911 owner who's still on the original motor.
I've also never met a 911 owner with over 100,000 miles.

The cars are junk. Research the issues they have.
Porsche simply doesn't care about reliabality.

Why do they have low claims? Because owners don't drive them!!!!

It's a Z forum so excuse a few of us if we justify the Z over every single car out there. We wouldn't be on this site if we wasn't fan boys.

I'm not a fanboy. I love my Z, but I'm not going to say it's better than a Cayman S. It may be a better value for your money than a Cayman S, but it is not better in any performance metrics. It might be better in looks ( I think so) but that is subjective.

Very well said and comparisons such as this is inevitable, but meaningless. Very few buyers cross-shop Porsche and Nissan. The 991 is probably cost 3x the Z (new). Does it worth that much more? Well, who knows/cares because it is a meaningless comparison.

I think the most important thing is that people buy what they want for whatever reasons. No need to justify it.

Lol your like the 4th person to say that on here this week. A rr platform car, if you push them to the edge and go over there is no coming back from it. On the other hand a fr platform is much easier to recover if you go past its limits. That's why people crash Porsches a lot.

Im a member of the GT86 forum. Do not in any way say anything that even resembles competition from another car. Whether it be a 458, a Ford Transit Ecovan, and ESPECIALLY DO NOT, under ANY circumstances, mention the last letter of the alphabet. You WILL be banned immediately. Im on there for LULZ, and they GENUINELY believe they own and drive "the poor mans Ferrari". They compare it to a C7!!! They make "valid" arguments for that comparison!!! The ONLY thing about that car that I like, like mind you, is NOT good, its simply a like, is the handling. It doesnt handle well but its fun to handle. Oh and the looks, its nice, a gutluss-feckin-wonder nice, but nice.

I have lurked around that forum a fair amount. It's so true, like i said before many of those guys are a bid delusional and overhype their cars. Some of their claims defy reality, specs and logic.

It is pretty funny when i read one member's claim that the lbs per hp on the gt86 is "very close" to the 370z. Yet another member claimed that by dropping 250lb the GT86 can hit high 13's (about a second faster then stock). Many other members claim that the GT86 can outturn many cars including Z and even beat them on the track, given it had enough twisties.

GT86 is a nice car though.
