Think of it this way, you're driving your 6 mt trans car hard around a curvy track. Agreed. Hence, my comment about wishing the paddle shifters rotated with the steering wheel.

Also, as an aside, the gears in the AT can be changed with the console shifter itself (forward to go up, backward to go down), which is no more difficult than changing gears with a MT.
