so either it's not that far ahead of me or the guy driving it has a wide set vagina.

all i know is at the one light the downshift with the straight pipes made him almost jump out of his little convertible

saw pure terror in that man's eyes. it was great.

I'll go with "wide set vagina" for sure. The C7 is a 12.4 sec car if not faster depending on tranny, options, etc. With your mods you are at 12.8 at best. Even if he got a bad launch he should still pull easily. Love our Z's but it takes no less than FI to give a C7 a run

One thing I know, corvettes attract a lot of fake azz posers who own the Vette and yet it will never go past 90mph. Ownership Bragging rights don't mean shyt when your driving skills are ball-less, gutless n hairless.

So lets not focus on the engines capabilities. It's what the driver did with all that power. That's what counts.

I've owned a Vette & it's not about how fast you drive. You have to keep the doors locked to keep the pussy out.

Guys,
First, I love both cars and am not a fanboy of any brand/model, but please don't make the mistake that these two cars are on the same "performance playing field", even with a turbo/supercharger kit, nor should they be, I could have bought two Z's for what I paid for the Vette. Now granted I have not driven or tracked a boosted Z, but I have seen a couple stillen SC 370's at my local track, and unless your doing a full build like SHAMU, I dont think that you would be able to keep up w/ a C7, point in case look at this years C&D VIR lightening lap, compared to the nismo Z, it was 20 seconds off of the C7 (370z was around 3:12, Z51 C7 was 2:53). Maybe stop light to stop light a boosted/built Z would beat a stock C7, but the Z is not a drag car, but the Vette isn't either. Both are very capable cars for what they are. I love both, have owned both and honestly if i could afford to keep both I would. In the end drive what you like, enjoy, then try something else, cars like these are what makes being a car guy great!

my quick comparison

Vette:
- better performance
- more comfortable for long trips, actually gets better mpg on highway
- turns more heads (probably because its new, but this is a negative for me)
- cost more
- larger aftermarket, but pricey, although 500hp is easy with bolt ons

370z:
- more intimate driving experience (also translates to less comfortable for me)
- build quality appears equal or better than Vette
- cheaper
- after market is expensive (although look at C7 exhaust prices you'll be happy you have a Z)
- not much power below 5K (real downer), i know fixed w/ boost
- I see less Z's than Vettes (although right now there are less C7s than Z's but that will change)

just my thoughts

Just a minor observation and opinion.

NISMO Z (pre and post 2015) are rarer than the common model. I've seen heads turn when one passes, because people are trying to identify it. They've got an idea in the back of their head they've seen the silhouette (it's still a Z after all), but not everyone immediately puts two-and-two together and determines the model immediately. I've even seen people in the parking lot, cheat and look at the rear trunk to find the giveaway Z mark.

I have never had another 370Z on the track while I was on. So many Corvettes I lost count.

GTR owners seem to come to one event then never come back. Those that do return become such good drivers they trade in the GTR to get another cool car: ex I've seen two McLarens, a Porsche Caymen RS, and a GT3, just to mention a few.

I've seen infinitely more Vettes at my local track than Z's, come on lets be honest 95% of all Z's are daily drivers or garage queens, not track junkies!

I WILL agree that there arent many Z34's on tracks. But I do see a lot of Z33''s on track. And most of the vettes I see on track are C3, C4 n C5. it's no coincidence that the majority are Corvette based on the engine being easy to fix and cheap to get parts. Lots of other brand cars on track have Chevy engines in them even when they're imports.

Doesn't mean the driver has balls though in a road coarse event. Just means he has a substantially powerful engine.

Just look at the threads on this forum where the yahoos are afraid to turn off VDC when they drive their Z. Poseur drivers are out there with all makes and models; no different with Corvettes or Zs.

Just sayin'...

You know what my dude? You're absolutely right. Not only that... There are more Z owning Z haters in our forum than any other brand. Most Z owners really don't understand what they bought. Most are wishing they'd cram the 5.0 s into the chassis or they wish the car was a Porsche, or wish is there a car can beat a ZL1 and never really understand that they bought a naturally aspirated v6 that in reality is faster & more powerful than any other naturally aspirated v6 out there. its a v6 that runs like a mid pack V8 and members still are not satisfied.

I want a turbo six not because the VQ is not a great engine. it's only because tuning a naturally aspirated engine is very very expensive. That's not Nissan's fault, that's the fault of the aftermarket and the commercialization of the tuning hobby. A turbo engine will drive the cost of mods n tune down in terms of price per horsepower

Oh well. It's a forum, I guess?
