Default I don't get it!!!

I don't get why people do not use the 370z as a DD car if they do not have to carry others. It's like marrying a beautiful woman and restricting yourself from making love to just the weekends. It's crazy.

The engine is a stout engine, the car is a joy to drive and I use it every time I need to go anywhere.

Other than weather conditions, you should drive it whenever. I find it hard to understand locking it up and storing in winter either because at least in the Midwest, there are some cold but good clear sunny days and the roads are not wet. I drive it except when there is ice and snow and then in use my wife's Prius.

I cannot imagine driving less than 12k miles a year and yet claiming you love he car. To me, it is disrespect to the Z.

Because where I live it would be like marrying a beautiful woman and rubbing her down with salt 8 months out of the year and expecting her not to get old, dry, and crusty. duh!

Some people would say you are being disrespectful to the Z by driving it in traffic and weather

That being said, I have 55K miles on my 2011 Z, and I do enjoy driving it every minute. But I'm not about to question someone else's decision to keep a garage queen Z. In fact, I'm ready to DD another car and garage the Z. I want to keep the Z clean, and I just don't have the time when it gets so dirty so fast. I'll take the Z to work whenever I feel like it, plus plenty of cruise time in the hill country on the weekends

i swear that OP has been used many times on here before......hmmm

anyways. i DD the Z for about 6-8 months a year depending on the weather. nov-march it's in the garage, all tucked in, and the heater in the garage set just right to keep her warm.

I completely agree with you. Just turned 86,000 miles on my Z and love every minute of driving it on a daily basis. It is a sports car and as a driving enthusiast, I am going to drive it and not store it away in a garage under a glass case to be used occasionally. I bought it to drive it.

i love to drive zeus just as much as you love to drive your z...but i prefer to take mine out when the weather is beautiful...i don't have the time to detail every time it rains (which seems to be every other day in northeast ohio)...i can't stand it when mine's dirty or has water spots all over it...i garage it during the winter (salt equals no z out of the garage)...and even if it's sunny with blue skies but cold during the winter, we can get a lake-effect snowstorm at any time here

it's just a matter of personal preference...i don't drive mine as often as others but it makes me enjoy the drive that much more when i do have my z out...and he's always beautiful

if i lived where you do i'd have the same attitude...but that attitude doesn't fit in northeast ohio...same concept with real estate...location, location, location

I work in downtown Chicago and commute from the suburbs everyday. I park in a train station where cars get beat up all the time. If I drive downtown I deal with frustrating traffic, potholes and crazy morons. It's not an enjoyable experience. Plus, most of the year it's cold and icy. Not great for sports cars. I have an AWD SUV for DD. When I get home, open the garage, and take the cover off the Z it's like pealing the clothes off a woman. It's an extra special treat and NEVER gets old!

When I 1st bought the Z, I didn't trade my old car (and trust me it was old, an '03 Hyundai Elantra). I kept the Elantra to use on sketchy weather days. After 3 months, I came to the realization that I was never going to put my butt in the drivers seat of that Hyundai ever again. 'Cept when I drove it to trade for the wife's Highlander.

I have never been in the position to own multiple vehicles, so I'll never understand buying a car for recreational purposes. I bought the car because I wanted to drive it, rain or shine. If something is preventing me from driving it, like a fear of bad weather, poor gas mileage, or lack of cargo space, then I should buy a different car.

That being said, I understand why people won't drive them during the winter. Road salt is an evil thing.

Because I do not want to go to the store in a straight line, only be able to get 4-6 bags of groceries, and worry about door dings the whole time I am in the store.

I take the Z when I want to DRIVE not go from A to B.
