I did install a Z1 24 row cooler on mine, but mainly due to where I live. OP, don't sweat the trip at all. If you have kept up on the maintenance, you'll be fine.

I had issues with oil temps, but never with long distance driving. That was always the one time when there were NO issues. high temps always seemed to be related to high RPMs and really not speed. In fact, before I installed my oil cooler, I'd jump on the interstate to get enough air flowing across my gizmos to cool the motor (and oil) down.

Maybe if you're driving 900 mph...in third gear, I could see it; else, I can't imagine.

Thanks for the input everyone. Well I made it. Temps were a max of about 225 the whole way. Averaged about 85 mph the whole way. Now to enjoy myself and do it again on Thursday!

Sheesh, the ob/co crowd of gauge-watchers really has the newbies paranoid about the mythical oil temp problem.

Yeah you want have any probs cruising at speed on the interstate at 80+mph. Highest I've seen with 100-105F temps at 80-85mph is like 230-235F.
