Exactly this is what will most likely happen. I havent seen a confirmed by nissan aa they will release the concept before engine specs.

So the new Z will most likely be a merc benz in Nissan clothing. .. to me thats the end of the Z.

Im actually already leaning towards Toyota with the new supra anyway but its too bad the new Z may self destruct.

Idk if it will be a Benz in Nissan clothing. Only the motor will be Mercedes. Maybe the transmission too. Im also willing to bet that the motor won't just be all Mercedes. Im sure Nissan will tinker with the intake, head design, and stuff like that to better suit the Z. Who knows though.

So when the juke had a gtr engine and transmission put in it and spanked the ferrari. Lambo and mercedes it wasnt gtr in juke clothing it was a juke that did it?

Dont kid your self the heart of a car is the engine and transmission.

Its the death of the z if they source to mercedes.
I would rather see a 4 cylinder turbo made by nissan that focused on performance then a v6 turbo merc engnine.

Don't kid yourself, a well developed mercedes powerplant isn't end of Z if that's direction nissan goes. Have to hand it to Nissan they have kept all in the dark about what's going on with Z.

You mean the Juke that had everything that made the GTR a GTR except for the body? Nissan won't be using a Mercedes C Class engine, transmission, suspension, rear differential, etc.

Is the FRS a Subaru? Is the Genesis 2.0 an Evo? Is the Vette a Silverado? Its not like Nissan is going to be taking these motors out of Benz's. Just because they use the basic engine design doesn't mean that Nissan won't have any development in the motor that makes it to the Z. This is all speculation anyway. Hell Nissan could use the motor straight from the Mercedes factory, but even then to say its not a Z is absurd. Nissan is going to be doing a ton of R&D on the car. Specifically design for a smaller/lighter car and suspension. Mercedes is not.

You took my rebuttal out of context. I said the juke was simply a gtr in sheeps clothing. Which you clearly agree with.

If nissan can truly dig in and increase reliability and make a Mercedes engine mod friendly then it wont be the death of the z.

These speculation forums really bring out the best in all of us... lol

but the frs is a brz... it's the toyobaru twins last time i checked aside from some cosmetics they were identical.

as for your other comparisons... well i see some hemi-engined cars. Well that's a wolf in sheep skin imo.
