The Camaro ZL1 is damn close to that... Supercharged V8 with coolers on everything.

Precisely my point its all about profit its not about what the consumers want. Its all about more sales with less cost. Nothing against AT but even granny can drive a Camaro with an automatic! Who does heel and toe now only quite a skillfull few....Certainly now I dont with the syncro rev. Its fun its easy.

I remember Porsche said years back they will only cater to making sports cars no SUVs...,.now what do we have the cayenne and the latest Crossover Machan. Who cares about the purist? They are only a few. Widen the market that is where the money is! Make a super car affordable and run through the production line thus comes Nissan GTR with all the driving aids even a 16 year old rich mamas boy can drive one in the track like a pro!
Even car makers have change there game why kill each other when we can team up to survive and build an affordable sports car a 4 banger thus the brz/frs!

What a nice strategy isnt? Why not Nissan + renault + merc come up with the same stategy so that even a newly high school graduate would able to taste what it feels to have a sports car! Again Because its PRofitable.
So the rumors might be just arond the corner.

Except the rumors say that Subaru got the short end of that deal and are pulling out of the BRZ market, especially after the ToyoBMW partnership.

Should have released a proper STI, with a turbo, to differentiate them from the Scion.

I say that there are two vendettas against manuals. Lazy people who just want to press the gas pedal and go, and the designers of performance cars who KNOW that their DCTs are faster than a manual. They didn't decide to stop making them out of spite, the market and technology has advanced to the point where manuals are becoming irrelevant.

Also, I love SRM! I can't heel toe for **** and without height adjustable pedals, I don't think I will ever take the time to learn.

I agree I certainly think Subaru was the one made more money out of the partnership as Frs have used and will continue to use the subaru boxter engine.

RND is the most expensive dept in the automotive industry. Its cheaper to source out other company who have already made all the Rnd and comes up with a good product.
Nissan has made the right move in choosing Merc to provide turbo charged engine + hybrid option. Hey who is currently making a killing in F1 in terms of reliability with turbo engines guess what its Mercedez Benz!

IMO, the Cayman is the ever looming presence over a 370z. That or the Audi TT-RS which was limited production.

I didn't buy a Toybaru because there was no power and it's got a shitty interior compared to a used Z for the same price. I don't regret my decision. I'd be interested in a TT V6, or just a little more power out of the current V6. Add that to a lighter weight, and I'm happy.

Needs to have a real manual, though. I don't care that a DCT auto is faster. I don't want one.

They should just throw direct injection ports into the VQ37. That would really help with the power.

So the Turbo 3.0 liter is expecting 328hp? I hope that's at the wheels (not likely), or otherwise Nissan is back sliding. That better include a decent increase in MPG or otherwise my thought is that they are wasting their time. Of course, with the talk of throwing an electric motor into the mix, hopefully that HP figure will jump up a bit. Would like to see numbers near the 375 mark or so. That would make it more worthwhile IMO.

As for the turbo 4...why? Unless their plans for the IDx fall through, they will already have a Turbo 4 sports car. Double-dipping would do nothing more than hurt sales for both, and if the Nismo IDx is cheaper, hang it up. Unless you are the kind of person that doesn't care about power and just wants the look?

Of course, I have always been the kind of person that would wonder why someone would buy a V6 in a car, when the V8 is an option. It just seems like a waste to me.

But hey, it's Nissan's money. If this decision comes back to bite them in the ***, sucks to be them.

I wonder if the turbo four will be base and the 3.0 turbo might be exclusive to the nismo. Anyone else think this may be the case.

From the talk I had it sounded like it would just be the RS. The rest will be as usual.

I also just found this: http://autoweek.com/article/car-news...-hybrid-engine
