Haven't you noticed that the weather man always says its some percentage chance of rain, 10%, 50%,90% whatever. My favourite is the 50% which really means they have no clue. But as long as they give a chance of some percentage they get to claim that their forcast is accurate. It rains they say look we predicted it would rain, It dosen't rain they say look we said it wasn't a 100% chance to rain so we are acurate in our prediction.

Best way to predict the weather, stick your head outside. If it gets wet it's either raining or you left the sprikler runing.

Weather is being, well, weather. Even with tools like very powerful computers, complex algorithms, radars and satellites, IMHO weather prediction is still an art. You can predict weather with approximately the same accuracy as trained and educated meteorologists equipped with the latest equipment when it comes to a period of 24-48 hour ahead.

Regarding the status of car cleanliness. If your car is outdoor most of the time (a daily driver or is parked outdoor), there is no use to keep it clean in this weather pattern unless you live in an area currently having a drought. The ugly grime coating may act as a paint protection anyway (tree saps and animal droppings may need semi-immediate attention) and, with every washing, there is a chance of introducing new scratches. So, I say, in most cases, leave it alone. The only things needed periodic cleaning are the wheels to keep brake dust deposit from turning permanent; the cleaning period could be quite long depending on the type of brake pads. Add exhaust tips if soot deposit accumulated fast.

there is no rhyme or reason to it. same thing happens to me. if i get a light sprinkle the black cherry is done . ill spend 4 hours washing / buffing / waxing sealing at the start of a "dry week" and will have rain the next day. it has rained 20 out of the past 30 days here in mid missouri, i have put like 200 miles on it in a month :/

I do listen to the weatherman, but like I say listen and don't think they're accurate. I put many coats of wax and polish the car frequently as well as apply a few coats of Rain X on the windows and don't really care even if it snows. I do garage the Z and I think that is the answer to having a great finish since the rain wont dry and leave those nasty h2o spots (also having a leaf blower helps). Looking forward to my 1st snow storm so I can have fun here in NE, but they are talking 70 deg. on X Mass...go figure
