I do it all the time with mine... Turn it on, lock the doors and then head back inside to punch out. By the time I walk back to my car, it's nice and cold inside.
I think you can actually drive off with the car for about 12 minutes before it shuts itself off since the fob isn't inside. I know some toyota and other cars have that feature.
