I've found that revving to 3000-3500 RPM and then quickly releasing the clutch and planting the throttle to the floor gets very fast starts, a bit of tire squeal, and no detrimental wheel spin. It really doesn't feel all that stressful on the car either. Nothing like the Porsche Carerra PDK wheel hopping starts I've read about. 4500 RPM sounds like too much.

when i launched mine on a test run on a back alley, i also found that 3k is a good rpm to quickly release the clutch. 4.5k might cause unnecessary wheel spin.
