Did you remove the intakes so you could reach them without swivels? On the drivers side using a bolt extractor, long extension, and huge breaker bar I was able to get enough torque to snap the stud.

i couldnt get a snug fit on the top bolt because of the steering column.

Hmm...That wasn't a big issue for me. Here is a couple of pics I snapped of it after it deformed our impact socket when we failed to break it loose with the impact wrench. The pictures themselves show I had clear line of sight... I wonder what is different with yours.

You can see in the pics the nut is already starting to round off... The extractor made the difference for us, but you definitely need to get it on there square.

Ahh, it certainly does look like you have less clearance than I did.

EDIT: Is it possible for your to access the fasteners on the steering shaft coupler from under the car? Or does the cat keep you from accessing? If you can get to them, you could remove that coupler to allow the shaft to move out of your way. Just make sure you set your wheels straight first and DO NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL while the shaft is decoupled.

Here is a pic of the extensions, socket(extractor and adapter), and breaker bar we used:

And here is the style of bolt extractor we used (Irwin branded):

I hope this is of some help! I have no idea why Nissan didn't anti-seize that nut.
