Washed her last night. This morning I have siphoned and added PS fluid (D6 ATF). Will run for the day and repeat at least one more time tonight. Wiped down engine bay with swiffer and about 20 AA wipes. |
I turned steering lock to lock 10x (3cycles) when I did the steering fluid change.

Motored my Z this am, had a great time. :p Fueled her up on the way home.
Qd'ed afterwards and also cleaned the glass on the inside. |

Touchbase w/ Haboob!
Met up with Haboob and his gf yesterday with the Z after their day at Six Flags. How lucky can he be. She loves cars and loves to drive. Who does this.......she asked where to go in SoCal where you'd find nice roads for a canyon run. Really cool.
So open invitation to anyone visiting SoCal. Let us know if you're visiting, I'd love to meet you. |

for your setup i think i would get some white paint and paint the sidewall lettering cause your tires look super fat due to the visible wheel screws. unless you like the nascar look. :icon17: |
my magnetic mirror tool wouldn't fit between the nismo's wheel barrel and akebono's,
so got a stainless dental mirror the other day to check pad thickness. :D just shine a flash light at the mirror. walla. |

I finally got the :nutswinger: to bake my headlights. Now I have black housings, clear lenses on the projectors and turn signals, and dual halos wired in as DRLs. I would have taken a picture, but there was no setting on my phone that was not overexposed.

12 minutes at 250 and they came apart easily. Painting with Krylon Fusion couldn't have been easier. I did a full blackout, so I didn't have to worry about masking or color matching. I bought all of my stuff from The Retrofit Source. Their XB Halos are great. The 90mm halos slid right into the projector shroud. My biggest issues came from shaving the turn signal shroud to accept both the projector lens and 70mm halo and then resealing the lights. It also took much longer than I thought it would. A single halo might not be that time consuming, but dual halos make the job much worse. In the end, I am happy with the result, but it is not something that I would choose to tackle very often. |
thats cool. you guys are brave. not brave taking the lights apart, brave you take your chance to not get caught by wife using the stove for cooking up car bits. :eekdance:
|
I was caught by the wife. She was like, "and why are you cooking car parts?" My response was, "to melt the glue."

too straight forward, needs more dramatization!! |
I was caught by the wife. She violently pushed me out of the way and emphatically exclaimed, "Why are you cooking car parts in my oven?! Don't you know that any chemicals released from the heating process will bake into any other food and give us cancer! Get that headlight out of the oven before I stick your head in there with it!" My response was, "to melt the glue."
