I'd settle for a parts discount.

PM or text DEpointfive0 (Andrew) and ask him for his recommendation - his cell number is posted a bunch on the forum. He'll give you the best advice for contacting Nissan and how to approach them :twocents:

Picked up my Z from the Nissan dealer yesterday. Drove it nearly 600 miles round trip to Big Spring State Park today. Never once turned on the stereo :driving:

No spacers. In fact, the 20mm Z1 spacers I had on with the stock 18's will be up for sale soon. And the tires are stock Nismo sizes, 245/40-19 and 285/35-19.

I think it looks lifted because of the sun being so low and lighting up the insides of the wheel wells, and the fact that I was down low taking those pics. It doesn't look like that normally.

Here's another one with my shadow in the pic. LOL

Thanks! I've always loved these wheels and always wanted them since the beginning.

As for what I did with my Z today, I called up GoodYear at 4pm to see if they could fit me in for a mount and balance. I knew they were going to say no, but... They said yes! So I loaded up my two front tires and dropped them off there, then went down the street to my work and picked up the two rear tires that came in today, came back and they got started on the install. An hour later, they were done and I was on my way home. A bit shocked at the price though... $185! But that's alright.

I haven't been here in a long time! Lots of Z loving this week. I cleaned her interior yesterday in the early evening followed by a fresh helping of Mobil1. The oil filter slipped outta my hand and I got a nice splatter of almost hot oil in the face, awesome. Today it was bath time for my black beauty. Shoulda waxed too but I forgot to use Dawn during the wash. Tonight I went motoring. Tomorrow I get some new rubber Conti DW 255/285. I got four new tires for barely more than what rears usually cost. Over 7 years of ownership and she still makes me smile like the first day.

Sounds like they must have don an alignment as well! My local shop charges me about $70 for that and I going to negotiate that down even lower...the benefits of living in a small town!

Let's see...

$23.00 x 4 mount & balance "parts"
$5.95 x 4 mount & balance labor
$1.00 x 4 Florida Tire Tax - WTF?!
$4.95 x 4 TPMS sensor service kit
$3.00 x 4 TPMS labor
$3.00 x 4 tire disposal fee

Shop Fees - $9.26
Tax - $12.10

I'm surprised they didn't charge me for the air I was breathing! :icon14:

TexasChuck 10-27-2016 02:29 PM

$185?

Yeah,, That's way too much.

Csc failed last night so towed her to a shop today to get a Z1 CSC eliminator and new clutch installed. Comp stage 4 clutch, I think I am going to do a review on it since I haven't seen one reviewed yet.

I really wish Nissan wouldn't have dropped the ball on that. My Z experience could have been much nicer.

LOL!

Well, I see it this way... With the typical cost of used Nismo wheels alone ($1800), and what I got them for, I still came out way ahead, even with the cost of new (much bigger and better) tires than stock and the crazy high Good Year bill.

PearlyladyZ 10-27-2016 09:13 PM

Can't agree more. Having moving out on my own and starting college in another state and then just having my car stop working and have it sit in a shop(it being my daily), is a struggle.

Yeah. The car I sold to get the Z was on its third CSC. I was like damn it, I'm not jumping out of the pan and into the fire.

Do yourself a favor and get the master replaced at the same time

bthomas87 10-28-2016 08:16 AM

Spent 4 days washing and waxing the 370. Weather was nice this morning, so I decided to bring her out for the first time in over a week. 20 mins into work and I hear the lawnmowers going :(

I thought about it and then remembered that I ordered all the parts to upgrade my base brakes to sport brakes the night before:icon14:

ChopsZ 10-29-2016 08:57 PM

Two of my brothers and I washed our cars today, then went and took some pics.

What options do I have for an aftermarket master anyways?

I know RJM that does the pedal has a HD master but there are known issues of premature failing on that too under certain conditions.

For the master the OEM is fine. In order to not void your warranty on the aftermarket CSC the manufactuerers usually require the master replacement at the same time. The claim is that the old master may be damaged or possibly contaminated from the previous failure which will re-enter the system and cause premature failure on the aftermarket CSC.

You can just source it at your local Nissan dealership.

btw good choice on upgrading your brake kit too! stopping usually helps haha

BboyZ 10-30-2016 02:52 PM

Installed the Flex Z Tein suspension. Drove the car for couple of blocks, it feels better but cant tell 100% as I need to take to a longer drive. lol

Spooler 10-30-2016 06:59 PM

The Nismo got an oil change, CSC fluid exchange, and a bath today. Ready for another week of driving.

P's_Z 10-30-2016 09:23 PM

Drove it to the mini market... :ugh2:

Yeah, i know, whats so great about that? After 10 days of not driving her(on vacations), i was looking for any excuse to take her out. Couldnt drive the Z the rest of the day because of a huge thunderstorm :shakes head:

onzedge 11-01-2016 11:18 AM

Here is what one guy did with the Z today:

OK, who was this?

http://www.elpasotimes.com/story/new...bust/93099326/

mishuko 11-01-2016 12:17 PM

After consultation with the OG I am strongly considering only going to do the front sway for now until spring and do the rear when I have my differential bushing changed.

MadSciSnails 11-01-2016 07:25 PM

Gave her some fresh brakes. Someone before me put pad glue in places it should never be. What a mess. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ea103facb2.jpg
