Actually got the stock shift knob off without damaging it

KngScottieV 08-25-2015 09:31 PM

Installed Ark DT-S cat-back and Berk high-flow cats.

oh god the sound... makes me want to do naughty things to her

I do however need to align the tips better, I thought they looked good from below the car on the lift, but I can do better when I go wash her tonight.

First burnout! Technically wasn't today but I finally got around to making simple edits and intro. Filmed on a GoPro Hero3 (1080,60p)

edit: Any advice for a beginner?

Just did mine a couple weekends back with 105/205 and 21. Check out Junkman's video on polishing and you should be good to go. I washed with dawn and then clay barred before I got started. Take your time on 105, its a good bit of work. 205 isn't too bad. Whole job took me about 6 hrs.

Mine got some cleanin action done!

Washed

Claybar

Wheels Waxed

Exhaust polished

as much as I'm ultra paranoid about hand washing and drying, I still could never get any of the small hair line scratches out. I'm not sure how people look at their own car and just say to themselves "Oh well..." But I hate looking at them...

So I bought this thing:

http://i1137.photobucket.com/albums/...pshz3nmtlk.jpg

Forget about trying to mess around with waxing/hiding scratches, or polishing by hand... This actually REMOVES scratches the right way. First use was a breeze, and I've tried tons of polish wax products over the last 20 years (I'm old)....

Could not be happier!

Strongly recommend the V34 for light scratch removal followed by some V38 then some blacklight glaze, and some 50/50 wax.

Looks better than the day I picked it up from the stealership!!

Torq kit with four 4 ounce polishes to try:

Chemical Guys - TORQ® 10FX Random Orbital Polisher Kit (9 items)

I also picked up some extra pads, and used the black finishing pad + V38:

Chemical Guys - Hex-Logic 5.5" Best of the Best Buffing Pads Everything Kit (8 Items)

Blacklight:

Chemical Guys - Black Light Hybrid Radiant Finish (16 oz)

50/50 Wax (this can be had around $45 at certain times of year...):

Chemical Guys - 5050 Limited Series Concours Paste Wax V2 Chrome & 2 Applicators

Lastly, the best deal, just get the green "work horse" towels... I picked up a ton of 'em, great for wax removal without unnecessary work!

Chemical Guys - Workhorse Green Professional Grade Microfiber Towel, 16" x 16" (3 Pack)

Best finish since I've owned the car, and I've tried just about every combination by hand imaginable...

After only a brief around the block test drive in the past 3 weeks, I think I will be doing this in an hour or two when the sun starts to peek :driving:

All I can say is that if you had been caught at 31 over in Virginia, you would have been immediately arrested, car impounded, with quite possibly 30 days in jail.

Be careful out there ... autocross and track days are your friend.

ourdelusions 08-29-2015 08:46 AM

12 hour drives are not. Neither are cunts in white challengers riding my *** rear bumper.

That's what my clients who pay $250/hour plus expenses for my time keep telling me.

Anyway, right after you are processed on your first day in the joint, it is a good idea to keester your papers and have a good story made up about why you are doing time. If the other inmates find out you are there because of your questionable driving skills it is not going to bode well for you. You will end up always a catcher, not a pitcher, if you catch my meaning.

It cracks me up that a guy who gets a ticket for more than 30 mph over the speed limit can actually put together a sentence.

I am here to help.

I'd love to see how quickly you drive if you had to deal with military ******** for 4 years. What exactly do you do anyways?

If I was actually going to jail, I'd already have been put there... You may be able to put a sentence together, you sure as hell can't use real world logic can you...

I've done absolutely nothing with my Z, since we've had some rain due to the tropical storms passing these last few days. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice and clear, hoping to take her out for a spin :happydance:
