OP here, I really wish I would have been able to get some responses to my question!
![]() I reallyappreciate all your responses. Some great input. I'm leaning toward the Z, primarily because of the affordability. I've always been a big BMW fan, but they're hit or miss on reliability. Too busy right now to put up with a finicky car. I do think the Z is a great looking car and I've been impressed with the test drives I've gone on. It seems for the most part everyone has been happy, which is great to hear. I think my Maxima and I were just not a good match, I've always owned sports cars and it just came up way short of my expectations. My fault though, I should have never expected much from a FWD car. Thank you all again for your great responses. |

Other than the rattled interior, rattled pipes and the clutch noise, MY 370z is a really great car to own.

No interior mods. I had FI exhaust professionally installed once, heard the rattle noise at 2 mph, changed to nismo exhaust the rattle still there. ![]() Edit: I forgot the GT-R start button which I did install it myself less than 5 minutes without opening the dash.

STi's are nice cars and perform very well & I like them. However, they just don't have the wow factor like the z's do when it comes to styling. Z's attract a lot of chicks' attention

Coming from a 13 wrx, and having driven a few 2015 sti's, I would pick the Z. First of all a stripped STi is 36k and change, I got my Z with sports package for 31k flat. Right there u save 5k. Exterior I think the Z wins, but that is personal opinion, that wing on the sti looks juvenile. Paint quality, probably poor on both, but go to NASIOC and read the complaints... Oh boy. Interior, Z quality is superior, way less rattles, better stereo (but really, any car sounds better than the base wrx/sti, better materials, although the sti is way better now than previous generations. Th wrx did not even have powered seats in the past, even now, only the drivers side can be powered.
Wrx is fun to drive though, turbo makes it feel fast, sounds great with spt exhaust, and is practical. I guess u should test drive as many as u can, but having owned 3 z's, I always come back to nissan. The z is a great car, it will always put a smile on your face when you drive it. |

Yeah, prices went up crazy, I think invoice for a base STI is around 35k, and they seem to sell fast here in the NW, so most dealers hang on to them. Seems to be more of a buyer's market for the Z's.

This is my first Z and I am still ecstatic over being an owner.
My first fast car was a '66 Mustang Fastback but I was a kid and could not afford the payments. Had pretty much boring cars since then in comparison. In mid 2013 I decided I wanted a nice new vehicle. I toyed with all the ones out there. Test drove a Maserati Spyder but ith 23k on it and 5 owners with no paperwork, I passed. It ended up being between the Z and a loaded GT Mustang. I loved the Z because it was all Japanese and the GT because it was all American. What killed the GT for me was when looking at the model I was ready to buy, the point of original for the engine read USA, but for the transmission it sayd CHINA. Pass. What sold me on the Z was the dealer and salesman. The salesman had the same car and could answer all my questions. Nicest car I ever bought! My next buy will be a Roadster! |
