What will void my 370zs warranty?

Very simply, what are the mods that will start to void the warranty?

Pretty much everything you do they will try to say will void the warranty lol... That's why I keep all my old parts, in case something goes wrong I can change them out

It really depends on the dealer. There is a Nissan dealer by me that is pretty good. A lot of the off roading/rock crawlers go there. I went with my Frontier that had intake, exhaust, tune, etc and never had an issue with warrant service.

That is kind of what i figured, that is why i steered away from the Subaru brz. I had plans to get one and slap a turbo/supercharger onto it but figured i would instantly waste the warranty.

Still shopping around for the perfect Z for me but thank you for replys

BRZ + supercharger + wheels/tires not from a Prius + brake upgrades + interior/stereo that isn't crap = should have bought a Z.

Seriously though good luck with your search. You can find a great used Z for a lot less than a new BRZ and you'll be getting a whole lot more car.

Typically a warranty as a whole isn't voided, but a claim can be denied. For the claim to be denied, it's denial must be reasonably linked to some modification made outside the terms of the warranty (or use of a car in an improper or expressly forbidden manner etc.). You can supercharge your motor and if the your fratistat modulator fails because it was poorly made, then the dealership has to replace it (assuming it is otherwise under the terms of the warranty). Now, it you are running an insane amount of boost and your engine atomizes then of course your claim can be rightly denied.

The problem is that dealerships are staffed by folks that know cars and not law. They often say things like "a tune will void your warranty" or "that exhaust will void your warranty" and believe it, but they are often wrong.

So, prudence in modification and claims are key. Just because you're denied coverage initially, doesn't mean it is the last word. If you are unsure about your coverage, do at leat two things; read the specific coverage for your specific vehicle and bone-up on consumer protection law with a little reading. It will keep you from getting surprised (or making dumb mods with unreasonable expectations) and it will enable you to preserve your rights to the maximum extent possible should you need to make a claim.

You are reading this on the internet. Only 0.1% of what you read on the internet has a congruence with a vague similarity of an approximation to some semblance of reality. Keep that in mind.

That and, if you are denied, work your way up the chain. The dealership is not the last word. Seems like the Nissan regional representative should be able to help out.

generally speaking, anything done to your engine or ecu will get your claim denied
taking off your cats will usually get SOMETHING denied
forced induction usually is a no go

your basic bolt ons are usually okay...that said, cai can (and usually will) be determined to have caused the issue if it deals with your intake or manifold
exhaust is aight, cause no intelligent dealer will try to pin a malfunction on something so simple...requires an intelligent dealer though

keep in mind, replacing a part and that part malfunctioning is a monster that boogies in a direction all its own. then you'll deal with the manufacturer and god knows what they're thinkin half the time

Denied and rightly denied are different and can have different endings depending on how smart and assertive the consumer is.

Then you'll be "steering away" from any car with a drivetrain warranty - adding a turbo/supercharger will void any car's drivetrain warranty.
