Does an Exhaust Mod void Warranty

Gents, If I were to upgrade to and HFC, will that void my warranty? What modifications, without a doubt, will void the Nissan Warranty?

if you have an engine problem and the mod that you have can be the proven source of the problem then the warrantee is void but no an exhaust does not void your warrantee and a twin turbo or supercharger will but simple bolt ons dont worry about it

now if the dealership want to blame it on your exhaust because they dont want to pay for the expenses then your screwed regardless if the real issue was your exhaust or not. they will find ways to void it. read your warranty disclosure. says it all in there..

they even had spots in there like they will void it if your car is damaged by "acts of God" or "falling missiles"..

Don't think of a warranty as being binary. It doesn't go from 100% valid to 100% void for anything (I believe an ECU tune *can* do this).

As others have said, a dealer can turn down warranty coverage on O2 sensors or your catalytic converters just because you have an aftermarket CBE. A dealer can turn down warranty coverage on your ripped AC lines because of an aftermarket CAI. Etc, etc.

If the dealership were to intall these items, would they we able to do an ECU tune. would warranty be valid, or would this be up to the service department on how they write it up?

So say that i do end up with a ripped AC line. What if I just put back on my stock intake before going to the dealer. what could they do then....yes this is fraud but we don't live in a perfect world.

ANY part can void a part of the vehicle's warranty IF and only IF that part is the direct cause of the issue. In this case I would not worry about it. But don't expect a dealer to clear CEL's for free all the time if you go with HFC or Straight pipes etc.
