Since they probably won't bring the Nismo to Canada, as they have not in the past (one year only), that is one dilemma I will not have to worry about.

Is the gearing in the 6mt changed as well? I thought I read it was now 3.91's. If so, did the srm get tweaked?

What do you mean tweaked...why wouldn't Nissan have it working as it should. This isn't some aftermarket retrofit.

I been on this forum too long have ANOTHER auto vs manual elitism debate.

I agree with you. People should get over the fact the manual does not equal enthusiast. GET OVER IT PLEASE. Paddle shifters will be for the modern day enthusiasts. A few generations and the manual will be gone. Kids with their video games will have no appetite for it when they get their license.

BTW, I have a manual and don't care if you have an auto. I just enjoy the sh!t out of my car and you do the same to yours.

As for those who don't like the 2015 Nismo, tough. It is still a nice offering from Nissan and hope they sell a lot. I am realistic and understand why they did this and not put in as much --- powerwise, drivetrain, weight, etc. These things costs money and does not make good business sense to do it in the last model before the new one comes out. If it is the last offering of this body style, then for a collector it is worth the penny. Good effort Nissan. Nice touch in building and defining your Nismo brand.

Fixed, and GTFO Raf!!! You and your elitist BS manual! Auto FTW!!!

Jk brother

But I think Nissan should've gone out with a bang, I think this model is weak sauce for the most part like most of us here seem to agree on. Finally the seats are worthy, finally it has the ability to have Nav, finally you CAN get it with the 7AT, but it's a day late and a dollar short still.
Thank god they did the 3.9 gears. But if they installed a real diff, I bet they'd sell wayyyyyy more! And if it had more power, EVEN MORE!
For the record, I don't MIND a duckbill, but this one is really tacky the way they installed it, and it looks too much like a normal sport IMO.

And I hope Nissan is still watching this thread so they can see me calling it weak again... Because it's weak...

I wonder if the front bumper of this Nismo Z can fit on an older Nismo or even a base....

axmea? 05-18-2014 01:49 AM

I still promised you a beer or two right Andrew?. lol

Yes it should. They're all the same in terms of mounting points. You might have an issue with the under tray so check with Eagle. He is a Nismo convert.

By tweaked I mean I'm assuming they reprogrammed the srm to match the rpms to the new gears when it rev matchs for you. Changing the final drive throws off the srm and currently there is no fix other than turning off srm (this is with 4.08s). If the 3.90s are "close enough" that Nissan didn't need to do anything that's interesting and if they did tweak the programming then I wonder if my Nisan mech can upload that into my car if I did a 3.90 gear swap.

One of our friends at Nissan North America's Franklin, TN headquarters brought a white 6 speed to our local Saturday Cars and Coffee get together yesterday.

The seats and steering wheel are great, the front/rear fascias I liked too (including the red accents) and the more subtle rear spoiler, but the tape stripes on the black mirrors looked cheap.

This is a good point to check. Which under-tray does it use and will it be $1000

U might be right .but if u think about it everything is standard on the 2015 nismo the only thing u have to add is tech package which includes Nav and back up camera which most of us won't really need and auto is optional

Yup, I think Nissan is using the NISMO model to show what is to come in the Z35. Its not a redesign. Just hinting where we are headed.

just saying there shouldnt be a stigma for auto as its down to personal preference and has no relevance on someone enthusiasm for a car. Nissan purposely added the Auto option for the very reason to try to get more people into the NISMO brand of cars and with this push of all things NISMO they wanted it to be more accessible simple as that its an option they arnt forcing it on anyone.. they just didnt want someone to be in the market and the lack of that option ultimately be a reason why they didnt end up buying the car

all that being said Im on the fence if I would go auto or back to manual if I got one of these. Every Z Ive ever had was manual but the 7AT is pretty good. only bone to pick I have with the Auto is from a design standpoint as the shifter knob and poll looks too large

:iagree:

Also how about people, that take the Z to a drag strip who need to squeeze out every millisecond on a NA or stage 1 build. Or people with impairments/disabilities that can't drive manuals who are "ENTHUSIASTS" who want to have a track day. The paddles with DRM are better suited.

I agree on knob and pole as well

Evansblue787 05-18-2014 09:36 AM

Love the front end but hate the wheels and spoiler. Glad to see Nissan try though! Holding out for the next nismo z.

I agree with a day late and a dollar short. But I only agree with the seats and the auto. The nav is gahbidge on a car like this. Oh, I also agree the diff should be better on a NISMO model.

But everything else subjective. I think it still looks great in spite of it being late. It would be killer with a 14 wing. In reality, that's all it needs aside from a better differential.

Does the stock NISMO sway kill the understeer found in the sport when hard cornering? I have eibach sways to correct it.

While I don't like the new 370z nismo much, the new GTR nismo is a different story. I totally in love!:yum:
