I like the new look of the Nismo and the bottom line is, this is a track version of the 370z. It should look and perform much better than any base version. Since they redesigned the kit did they do it with the car being on a track in mind? Like my 2012 Nismo, it claims to have 150lbs of down force at 75mph. Does the new kit on the 2015 Nismo have an equal or increase in down force?
Power wise, is there more hp and torque? Obviously NOT! A big thumbs down to Nissan for that one.

Is there anywhere that Nissan explains about the new changes and differences of the old and new kit? Does the new kit function better than the old? i would like to read. Please post link if you have it. Thanks

The option of having a gps is awesome and should have been an option from the start.

The new seats are sweet and i wished the steering wheel had a flat bottom.

Paddle shifters are a great option, look at the gtr.

Should have taken the stupid clock out a put in an oil pressure sensor.

The exhaust... can it at least sound half as loud as the gtr? This is a "track" car... im sure people know what they are getting into when they buy this car and a little exhaust noise wont hurt.

Did we really need the rear wiper?

I'd hold off on buying or trading in for this years Nismo model until they make changes under the hood where it really counts.

This is just MHO.

This update of the Nismo is a joke, anyway. I think I would consider getting those mirrors for my 2012, I have to see them up close, I hate the mirrors in our cars. Also the seats seem to be extremely nice, our cars need that too if you are somewhat tall or have long legs.
I think buying this car will kick your A55 in terms of depreciation, especially with the new model around the corner, I would absolutely stay away, but buy the new Z once it is out, since the later models are heavier and slower, the first year is typically quickest

for those of us that own the automatic, we know we get excellent torque response from our units. I believe with the new gear ratios, this NISMO will be an excellent performer in the automatic.
A reworked suspension should probably allow the NISMO to accelerate very hard. This auto will be worth buying.
Expect the Z35 to feel more torquey due to boost. But also expect that 4 banger to run out of steam around 120-130mph... This Z doesn't begin to loose steam till 146mph. Even when it begins to lose steam @ 146mph. There's enough Hp to make it to the govonor quickly. That's my sport model. Maybe the extra 18 and marginally higher revs add more push to 155-160mph. These NA's hold a muscle car feel. The Z35 will feel more German-ish.

No one knows what the next model will have under the hood. I'd be a little surprised if they put a turbo 4 cyl in it, since the heart of the Z has always been a 6 cylinder. There are certain things that have to stay the same to keep it a Z.

I really am surprised they offered an auto version. Quicker or not, an auto isn't an enthusiast option. *Most* nismo buyers want a drivers car, and auto takes all the fun away. Rowing through the gears is where the fun is:)

none to my knowledge

Changes to tuning/power/torque?

same as the current NISMO 18 hp gain on the standard car from the same exhaust and ECU tweaking

Did Nissan talk about how much it weighed?

no and that figure was left out of the specs. i would guess its very similar to the current car. the body work and the seats may move last years numbers around a bit but there wasnt anything I noticed that was geared purely toward weight savings other than maybe the thin backed recaros. they do have all the electrics added back so they could come in again similar to the current seat. so bottom line if there is any its marginal as under the skin its the same car mechanically besides a retuned suspension

Changes to the driveline? Diffs, clutch, tranny, gearing?
Drag?

none of that was mentioned so I assume its a carry over from again the current NISMO. the final drive ratio of the auto is different than the auto on the non NISMO its. 3.692 vs 3.357 and they are claiming the acceleration is quicker to 60 in the Auto

wow so it's really just the ugly body work and new seats, nav package... like a vanity girly version... kinda. :ugh:

I only rode in it from one photoshoot location to another so I didnt get a real feel for the suspension other than to say it felt similar to every other 370z ive been in and I even drove a NISMO at COTA last year. no specifics on spring rate or anything like that were given out or discussed other than to say it was retuned for 2015. it might take some real world testing to see what all was changed. The car is out in 2 months so we will know sooner than later

Tires are S001

Thanks for the response MC. It is a collector's car. If you end up with 2015 #1, it's a keeper. The very 1st of the last ones is desirable. If it was me, I'd leave it stock and un modded, maybe exhaust and change the wheels and wrap it safely never to be soled.

The red on the NISMO Z front lip is actually painted( sides mirrors and rear are decals like whats on the NISMO GTR and juke.

alot of GTR guys are using pinstripe to replicate the look ( cant totally get down with that mehtod) If you wanted the look it will cost you about $5

I was in the camp of not being happy that the red was a decal but after seeing it in person atleast on the GTR there is an indention the red goes down in so its not just stuck on. another thing to keep in mind and this never occurred to me until nissan marketing brought it up...but if you have damage to that area a decal is much easier to replace than having to repaint and match parts of a stripe.

I was curious of the quality so I picked at it lightly with my fingernail and it seems to be stuck on there extremely well

MC,

Is the gearing in the 6mt changed as well? I thought I read it was now 3.91's. If so, did the srm get tweaked?

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the USDM version will not have a rear wiper.
