How do I apologize for my op rant? I must eat my words and look like an ***. Because for whatever reason this new nismo has grown on me and I actually like it.

On another note, google "mere exposure effect" or "perceptual fluency" for an at least partial explanation of why the car's looks may have gradually grown on you. |

These are my questions about the 15 Nismo.
Has VVEL been refined as in the Infiniti Q50? How much better is the new suspension? Have they made the exhaust a little louder? The suspension is most intriguing because a much improved suspension may possibly add up to .3 seconds of acceleration times and unknown track time improvements. The suspension is a great way to increase performance without increasing power. Nissan might have done more than what appears on paper? |
Any idea when dealerships will let people order these? All the Mustang people are putting in their orders and the first ones of those won't hit dealer floors until September.
Or does Nissan not do that sort of thing and we just get to wait until July or later? Sorry for the dumb questions. Never been interested in a car not-yet-released like this before. |

I'm guessing the July thing is when dealers can order the new NISMO, rather than when dealers would actually have them on their lots. In addition there's an 8 to 12 week wait when "special ordering" a car straight from the factory. Nonetheless, the dealer said they would call me each week during June. They're hoping Nissan will unlock whatever is preventing them from making orders before July. They want to have the first regional sale of a 2015 NISMO, as much as I want to be the first regional owner. |

That being said... I can still negotiate the sales price. Just because you order straight from the factory, doesn't mean you have to pay full sticker. There's more than one Nissan dealer in the area. I just picked the largest and most successful, because I figured they'd have the best chance of securing solid information. Once I get the "price sheet" of what the base car and options cost, I can workout the negotiation part. I wouldn't mind paying full sticker, if I can squeeze the savings out of the trade-in. On the otherhand, being the first 2015 owner would have great bragging rights for me. The 370Z is a rare sight in my city -- 'stangs and 'vettes are by far the favorites -- and the new version is sure to be an eye catcher. Might be willing to take a little wallet burn for that... Seeing how I'm likely to have at least two months to stew on all this, I'll have time to consider everything. Deal isn't locked in until the papers are inked and money has traded hands. |
Nargrakhan, Yes you can definitely negotiate the price when ordering and you can re-negotiate even lower after it comes in. I pre-ordered my 13Z before it was in dealer showrooms and this scenario worked out very well for me.
The new Nismo is very nice and having an exclusive car only makes the car owning experience much more fun! Good luck to you  |
Is the red a decal or paint?
