OK to winch onto flatbed from front tow hook?

I would have never guessed the tow hook was for towing

I wanted to make sure it was suitable for pulling up onto a 30 degree incline, as opposed to flat towing it back to the pits. Better to ask here rather than relying on a random tow truck driver.

is your steering lock bad? if so, use your tow hook to bang at the steering lock to release it. it might work. saves you potential scratches and scuffs on your car from towing. it's not like they put much protection when they strap down the cars..

Nah. I'm trading it in for a 2014 in Pearl White. Dealer delivered to my house on the flatbed today and took my Black Cherry 2011 away. The dealer is 90 miles away and the Z is not drivable because of the snow and ice in my driveway and on the roads. The driver dropped the one in the storage garage and pulled the other right out of the main garage. Did the paperwork at my kitchen table. It was slick. Like ordering a pizza.
