OK to winch onto flatbed from front tow hook?

Its if your boosted with no crash beam it can be a hassle. And although nissan puts a nice little cutout in the rear bumper for the tow hook there

I had to load mine in reverse from the hooking point under the drivers side rear bumper and stand on the winch cable so that it did not heat the bumper. Ended up working out just fine tho.

My 2011 has a black plastic piece in front of the tow-hook plate that looks like it's a part of the front fascia. Do you have to pop that out to screw into the plate? Having never needed to tow my Z, I haven't really investigated it..

As it turns out, the dealer is sending a low-rider car hauler for it and bringing a 2014 replacement. Too much snow to even drive it out of my driveway.
