Good rule of thumb is to shift when your tach hits about halfway to redline (in our case, 3500 rpm). This would be considered your normal, daily driver type scenario.

Good rule of thumb is to shift when your tach hits about halfway to redline (in our case, 3500 rpm). This would be considered your normal, daily driver type scenario. Depending on situation (driving up/down hill, weather, etc) you can change it a little either direction without hurting it. I would say keep it under 5500 on a regular basis to just to cut down on engine wear/tear and to keep a decent fuel mileage.
For those few times that you do decide to let her sing, just try to not bounce off the rev limiter too much. Over time, you will have it figured out. Feel free to experiment a little to see where you feel the most comfortable.
