I literally cried when they towed my car off the driveway only a month after having it. I sincerely hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Sorry to hear that man, I live in West Babylon and would also be devastated if that happened to me. Once I get my Z we should have a meet.

Really sorry to hear of your loss. Your car will be good as new I'm sure! Just have peace within you knowing that people who do such things will get theirs.

Example 1: My customer told me he use to rob jewelry stores. Now he barely has enough to put food on the table and is handicapped and confined to a wheelchair.

Example 2: A married lady who cheated with another married man and helped kill the man's marriage. She went traveling in another country and was involved in a motorcycle accident that left her handicapped. Her husband left her for another woman, and now she barely has enough money to live on.

Let these examples give you peace and comfort, and serve as a warning to others who do bad things. "As you sow, so shall you reap". Never worry about giving them a piece of you, karma will do that for you.

Talk to your neighbors and really get more eyes watching for problems. In a nice area everyone around your place is probably feeling some concern as well.

Recommendations:

Lojack has some nice options that should help. You can even have your phone called if there is a problem.

Motion sensing lights aimed in the cars vicinity are probably the best at discouraging thieves.

The lights and a camera to catch whoever.

Good luck!
Actually, we do have motion sensor lights flood lights in the driveway, but the thieves came up to the house and unscrewed the lights before stealing my wheels. But I will definitely look into the Lojack option.

Those Fother Muckers, Why dont you check craigslist or your local newspaper to see if those guys are stupid enough to try and sale them. Then just meet up and do some damage. Even if they didnt steal them from your car, It would still feel pretty good to get it out.

This incident is part of a reason why we didn't go for the sport package.

A few weeks ago, I was woken up by a loud crash. It sounded like 10 people had thrown metal trash cans in the air and they all hit, simultaneously.

What happened was someone stole a taxicab (keys in it, engine running) at a convenience store and made it as far as my block. Then he drove up over the curb across the street, across several lawns, and when he got to my neighbor's little Hyundai parked in the driveway, he pushed it out the way with the taxi. He left the taxi with the engine running a couple hundred feet down the street ... impaled in the back a 5-series BMW.

My Z was safely in my driveway. The 98 Yukon I was trading under the clunker program was out on the street -- but he didn't hit that. (If he had, I would have laughed.) But that poor little Hyundai, sitting peacefully in my neighbor's driveway, got all twisted up.

I expect something, don't know what, to happen in the life of my Z. I'd rather not have to replace those 19" sport rims or rubber ... they're cheap on an OEM buy, but very price if you have to replace pairs. The 18" "base" rims are good enough for me, and I've got a better chance of buying someone's pulls at a good price.

You didn't get the sport package in fear of someone stealing your oem rims?

No, read more closely -- I didn't want to have to REPLACE the OEM rims.

The sport package is an extra $3K. But the full replacement cost for this theft -- 4 sport rims, 4 sport tires -- was $8K.

I'd not want to spend $8K putting the same shoes back on the car. But if comprehensive insurance was involved, I'd have to.

See what I'm getting at? The sport option locks you in to a number of pretty expensive replacements. The 3K extra you pay up front is only the opening ante...

most ppl take the cash and just buy aftermarket ones anyways... sometimes even cheaper than new OEM replacements

Ha! They used milk crates when they stole the wheels off my 2002 Spec-V four years ago:

Hey just curious, how do they get the car onto a tow truck with all the wheels missing? Do they just drag it up, because that would really mess up the bottom of your car...

or do they put some kind of temporary wheels on first?

Thanks in advance.

I first had to wait 24 hours for the dealership to find 4 Rays wheels. They took them off of another Z Sport in the area, put them on my car to get it on the tow truck, drove the car to the dealership, put it on a lift, took the temp wheels off, and then had to order brand new ones.

Ur welcome.

Yeah, I had to find out the hard way exactly how expensive those little jewels are. I actually now have 3 different sets of wheel locks on (Nissan brand, and two different sets of spinning Gorilla wheel locks).
