Second... 29k? might want to do some homework. (i swear the price keeps going up and up as this thread continues) Scion FR-S | Prices And Information | Scion.com Third... you could make a 10 sec suburban with the "right" money... congrats? Will it be reliable for whatever this amount is? Will you have the right support mods or do you just wanna dump some giggle gas into it and blow your engine/tranny/diff? I priced out a coilover suspension for a brz... 800 bux and its still a rather new platform. Anyone wanna know the price difference between a set of track tires for the BRZ vs your 370z? How bout pads? Its a good platform... a sharp one at that. EDIT: tires are also proportional to weight and power... so think about that.

agreed with the MSRP = idiot thing, but with scion, im not sure about subaru, they have no haggle pricing. no dealership will go lower than the next. the only way to get a deal is to fall into the, graduating student category for 500 off, or some other promo going on. which makes the FRS at 25-26K pretty pricey... |

From my side, I'm not hating... My test drive was just uninspiring. Im able to rent corvrttes for a weekend. Get back in my Z and feel inspired to drive it in spite of the 100hp deficit. From a subie to a Z, the toyobaru is a snoozer to drive unless you will do 100% street driving @ high revs and never pass 70mph.
The platform is generally very good. But as Kenchan said. The car is overpriced. The price holds it's criticism. When 2011 hit on the Z. The Z wasn't worth ifs msrp either. But smart shoppers were knocking $3000 off the price. Toyobaru is not negotiating. Lol. Not worth it.

I will say a widebody BRZ/FRS is a beautiful thing (think rocket Bunny)
Back to the article though, I really hope Nissan comes out with something impressive. Not that I'm looking to sell, trade etc, but I just love seeing Nissan occupy this space. So many car makers have left it behind. They did well in the past with the Silvia, The Z...I'm more of a Z fanboy than a Nissan fanboy but again, be nice if Nissan can represent more than just economy

I think Subota sounds much better than Toyotabu or whatever it is. Flows off the tongue better.

I've been seeing more FRS/BRZs on the road. One thing I really like about it is the compact package. It is plenty roomy and suited for its purpose. I'd love to have a Z of those dimensions, light weight, and running a VQ25DET.
I watched a video of a Crawford built BRZ. It is sick, but it sounds terrible. Thumbs up for VQ turbo sound.

That's true... double yew tee eff. Remember the 350Z complaint was the interior for under 30k? The FRS/BRZ for about under $30k OTD is definitely a bit pricey for what it offers - more than a used 370Z among others.
I wanted a Civic Si sedan for a daily, but it stickered at $23k.
