Looking forward to the Inifinti Q50 Aue Rouge concept and I can't say I know for sure, but we all know that Benz/Infiniti are going to be sharing engines and platforms, and we know the new C-class C400 has a twin turbo 6 with 330hp/360tq ... I would venture to say that a educated guess would be expect this 3.0 ltr (can't say I've read V6 or inline 6 though, I assume V6 but the insider news indicate a inline 6 is again in the drawing board for Benz eventually) to be in the Infiniti concept and would make sense to drop this into the new Z as well...
I'm sure Benz will have a 3.0 base motor and probably a higher displacement version too (in the 400hp range)... I'd say 400hp in the Infiniti but only the 330hp version for the Z with the higher one for a Nismo version..
Anyway just guessing but if you follow the industry you notice trends and what happens out there usually follows these trends... This just feels like a likely outcome

This wont happen, 1st off i seriously doubt Nissan will drop a Mercedes engine in a Z. 2nd the GTR is a V6TT so they wont overlap them even though the GTR motor is far superior it would still be the exact same motor choice which will not be found.

My assumption is a 4 cylinder turbo engine with 315hp curb weight of 2800 pounds and another option of a 3.5 liter 300hp motor with a hybrid electric 50-60hp motor attached with 2900-3000 pound curb weight.

Doubt itll happen but i wouldnt be opposed to seeing the Benz TT6, keep the weight about 3000 lbs...

Aside from the GT-R...

They basically divulged that Nissan only has the budget to put out two sport car ideas. So they'll have to choose from Bladeglider, Z, Freeflow/idx, Sx, Silvia-line... Just including those last two because I've seen people crying for hte resurrections.

The next bit of speculation was that they might scrap Bladeglider because of the IP battle that would ensue, they would be stupid not to continue the Z (although this panel is of the mind that the Z needs an entirely new engine architecture) and given the positive feedback Nissan received from freeflow/idx, they would be stupid not to build that.

It's just a journalist panel. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

Wtf is the bladeglider?

It's the street car concept based on the Delta Wing project. There are pictures of it earlier in this thread.

Btw thanks for the summary <3

I'm actually in the market for a brz right now. Friend got his and I love it. It would save me 400 a month over my stang...and even more if I got the 2015. And I'm looking to buy a house so I need more money. I'm actually kinda interested in the idx now. Have to go look up stats :D

I do wish Nissan had something like a 240sx in the market.

I like the Datsun 510. I don't like the idx. I can't put my finger on what would have to change w/ the idx to connect it with 510 for me.

Pitch 12-19-2013 07:12 PM

Front end alone would do it for me.

It's like they tried to copy the c6 rear end, how it looks like it gets cut off...but in the front

Really? I have threads/posts all over various forums initially spitting on the twins. Over the months, and with some actual seat time in a BRZ at Sebring along with feedback and observation Ive grown to really love them. FANTASTIC chassis and platform. That being said, youre not setting any record lap times in one or getting to the stop light first. Same can be said of the 370 though. They ARE truthfully slow. However, they are soooo tossable, great feedback, and you really dont think about the lack of power(most of the time) because they really are great fun.

I knew you'd come around. The only knock on the car is the motor and the price tag. If they had a 300hp version it would be worth every penny of 30k.

I think in ten years (assuming it makes it that long) it'll be the new miata in that there will be dozens of them at every track event and they're faster through every corner than 95% of the rest of the field.
