Shallow? No, I dig the IDx for a car, not a replacement for a Z. The Z has a long heritage of RWD, good power, for the common man. Id hate to think is straying from that recipe. You can argue the 300 strayed, being so damn expensive, perhaps the 370 too as I got screwed and bought a '13 and got raped. But mechanically the recipe has always been there. The IDx offers none of it (as a Z). Given the preamble to Tokyo, all the innuendos gestures and downright frankness that "the next gen Z car will be unveiled", i hardly think its shallow to accept the IDx as a viable replacement for the beloved Z. Neat car, but a Z it aint. Amiright?
