Default 370Z Durability

OK… for you guys that really “DRIVE” the 370, I have a few questions… I happily owned a 350Z for 10years. The thing was bullet proof. I’ve owned the 370Z for about a year. (Touring, Nav, 7AT , Sport package and K&N drop-ins.) Next week I’m installing a cat back exhaust. The question is, can the VQ and the seriously drive train take it? (I knoe the GTR can), but I also need to eat. The ECU on this car seems pretty determined to not let anything wreck the drive train especially with the 7AT. If I don’t turn off the TC in your experience, can the 370 “take it”? So far if feels like no issue. As a side bar, I also own a Kawasaki Ninja ZX9R, so I have some expectations…

LMK…

Thanks,
Ken

not sure if you're asking if it can take a cbe or just lots of driving or both. the answer is yes! no problems at all with my z being daily driven for over a year and half with 30k miles

The 370 is also a daily driver for me. The first 3 gears in the AT can provide some outstanding launches. The AT mapping lets the RPM float to redline without hesitation, that’s why the posted 0 - 60 times are easily in the 4’s. As far as your experience goes, is it bullet-proof?

DD my 06 G35 coupe for 3 years with full bolt ons. Bullet proof. 0 issue. Owned 370z for 2 years. No issue so far. Although it's not my DD, but feels just like the G35 coupe. Solid.

Shut off vdc and you'll learn how much torque u have in the 7at. Just be careful. You might free up even more torque with a new lsd. This car has a lot of power for anyone pushing the limits. But you just gotta get there first.

I have a MY09, nearly 100,000klms, 24 track-days (have used 9 sets of pads, on 3rd set of rotors, and 4th set of dd tyres and 4th set of track-day tyres) and mine still comes back for more. Front wheel bearings have been replaced once and will need doing again "soon", and diff carrier bushes are rooted and now need replacing.

Oil is changed every 6000klms, gearbox and diff oil changed every 25K klicks.

You will have no worries...

RB

The maintenance is not cheap, but the car is wholly reliable.

I'd consider this a hard-working vehicle but not an excesively flogged vehicle, and it is as good today as the day I took delivery.

I have some decent work done to my car. It has 57k on it and still going strong. Here is what you have to take into consideration for longevity. Most of my 57k (literally 90%) is cruising at 75mph with no traffic and ideal running temps. To compare apples to apples for you my dad dd'd his 350 and has 199,xxx on his and the only thing that failed on it was 1 thermostat and both door handles.

What you are using the car for and the conditions you are putting it through is what has to be considered. If you are in stop and go traffic on your dd or is it cruising for 20-30 min with good air flow? I know guys that had put 60k on their 350's and blew em up saying they were the worst car ever purchased.

Like I said depends on the conditions you are putting the car through.

The 370 is a solid car but the 350 may have been more bullet proof. I had a 300ZXtt that was bullet proof and never spent a night in the shop.

My experiences may vary from others.

I had a 2003 350 Z DD that I put 180K on with no issues, just tires , starter, oil changes and 1 clutch. I now have a 2009 370 DD with 40K and also no issues besides pulling the steering lock fuse.

was stationed in germany for 5+ years (mannheim and wiesbaden), would love to get my 370z on the autobahn or better yet, take it to the ring for a couple spirited laps

My only complaint with the 370 is that it doesn't have a physical key for the ignition. I miss being able to start my 350 whenever I wanted. My 370 has a mind of its own with the damn keyless ****.

Other than that, I have started modding it and am loving everything so far.
