I too drive a 2009 MT with a short block replacement, two clutch fluid changes, and will do the steering (in order to reregister the car) lock but that's it.
If given your news I would complain to Nissan and here too. Ultimately I'd pay to get my car back on the road rather than buy another Nissan. Good Luck and I hope you get it done cheaper.
