Default Has anyone experienced any issues with the nissan warranty with after market mods?

I am looking to add an after market exhaust and cold air intake to my first z that i just purchased. It was used, and I wanted the full nissan warranty so i purchased the Nissan Gold Warranty, (bumper-to-bumber for another 60k miles). I am worried that in the event of me adding things, something completely different will be wrong later, but nissan will void the warranty for the aftermarket systems. Whats the best way to go about this?

It all depends on your dealer. If you have a longstanding relationship with them (i.e. you've bought a lot of cars from them) they might be more understanding and look the other way.

Some dealerships don't care what you have on there, other dealerships will void you for a simple tune with no mods. It's really all up to them.

If you have a few different dealerships in your area you can go around and ask what their policy is on mods and warranty.

A good rule of thumb is anything that you do after the rear 02 sensors and before the MAF is not an issue (excluding tune).

Best to check with the dealer you plan on making a claim with before you need to. Some Dealers are mod friendly, but a lot are not.

Replacing the clutch and LSD with better versions are a different story. I would never go back in and put the VLSD back in. And the only reason the old clutch would go back in is if I absolutely couldn't afford another higher performance clutch. Keeping these turds around if you have limited room can be a pain.

I have the MHI TT paid for and hopefully on the way soon which is why I made the switch in the first place. Finding the money to install said TT is going to be the trick since, after taking another look at my finances, I'm not doing as good as I thought.
