:iagree: I think you guys are getting confused with what Elan is saying. The 350 had a digital speedo in place of the clock (which is completely useless especially if you have the nav unit which also displays the time directly bellow :shakes head:). But it also had an analog speedo in the same spot as the 370. I too was upset this no longer existed. I had a 350 about 6 years ago so I was spoiled as well. I also liked the TPS monitor feature too. But I'd rather have the 370 interior any day over the 350 so can't really complain too much :icon17:

now i get it

:iagree: Well said. I loved my 350, but sat in my buddies 2008 after I got the 370...I questioned how I could ever have liked that interior. It seemed so dull and boring compared to ours. I do love the interior very much.

SmokeEater27 07-09-2013 03:32 PM

It might sound like a dumb one but I do really like having the extra chargeport under the glovebox that passengers can use while my other is occupied. I thought it was pretty neat the first time i saw it.

Which at the time superceded all interiors in it's price range. Today in 2013, this is more opinion than fact but, the Z is still the best sports car interior out there imho. In 2009, there was no argument. It was a fact.

Garmin just announced that they're coming out with a HUD similar to this. It's a box that you place on your dash and I think there's also a special film you have to apply to the inside where it projects the HUD. The box then connects to your phone via bluetooth and you have to use either the Garmin Street pilot or Navigon nav apps to feed the HUD turn by turn and other data.

As for my minor features that I appreciate:

1) Auto-dimming rearview mirror. This is one of my absolute favorites, having never had one before. It makes night driving so much more comfortable. Now if only the side mirrors also dimmed.

2) The preamp automatically raises/lowers the volume of your music slightly as you speed up/slow down. It's subtle but it works well most of the time. Note: This is for 2009 touring with bose and non-nav. I'm not sure if all models have this.

3) How fast the car both cools down and heats up. It's probably mostly due to the small interior space, but it works really well. It cools the cabin on a hot summer day about 3x faster than any other car I've been in.

Lol, I hate both of those features, I turn the dimmer off as soon as I get in, and the speaker thingy would be nice if it increased volume smoother vs making small jumps (yes, I am that anal about it)

#2) Not on 2013 base models. Had this feature on my 04 G35 Coupe & enjoyed it.
#3) Yes. Nissan has good A/C's on their sports cars, my above G35 was excellent as well. GTR Forum members say exactly the same thing.

With how crazy hot and humid it got in our area all the sudden, #3 is a big plus!

I completely agree. When I sat in one I fell in love with the cockpit. The car just fit for me. I look at it this way. I can't see myself driving the car so even if it looks cool outside, if I don't feel for it on the inside it just doesn't work for me. I'm big on old school gauges not idiot lights & such. Then having the ability to sling the car around corners. I'm not a straight line speed guy, I live for the canyons on bikes & the Z. For me it's all about the twist & turns & being able to rail them. ;)

paperboy42190 07-10-2013 02:17 AM

I really like the dancing gauges on startup too

As silly as it may sound, that was one of the requirements of my purchase.

Is the 155 MPH electronic limit easily overridden? Anyone know what the true top speed is without the limiter?

I don't believe there is an electronic limiter. My understanding is the 370Z is aerodynamically drag limited to 156 mph.

roy'sz 07-10-2013 11:15 AM

Ive done 160 with plenty of room to spare.

b15 07-10-2013 11:37 AM

I think you need a tune to eliminate it. Not sure what the Z is drag limited to

Electronically limited to 155.

Sh0velMan 07-10-2013 12:43 PM

My favorite minor feature is the built-in oil pre-heater.

To each his own I guess, but why would you hate the auto-dimming? It makes no difference that I have noticed during the day and it cuts down on super bright lights and saves your eyes at night.

For the same reason I don't wear sunglasses while driving.
I want the rawness of driving, I want to know what car is behind me, I want to know that the guy is being a Dbag and high beaming me, lol

My current favorite feature is the auto headlights. I've had the car since the beginning of the year, but only started using the feature a few weeks ago.

The problem I have with the auo headlights is since I keep my car in the garage, every time I start the car, in the garage, the lights go on and then off as soon as I back out into the daylight. This is needless wear and tear on the expensive headlight bulbs, so I quit using the auto feature. Is there any way for me to get around this?

OEM Headlight bulbs are CHEAP since so many people change theirs out. My worry is more the ballast, but whatever...

Wait you can turn off the headlights? Mine is on 24/7, except when I start the engine in daylight and leave the e-brake on.

Exactly, in Canadia, DRL is a law, you cannot import a car without modifying it to have DRLs
