My roadster is fully loaded...and the fact that I can change the background of the nav screen to match the rest of the red in the gauges rocks.

Lmao really? At night flip your lights on and look at your map light. If you cant see it then turn your cluster brightness all the way up. If not I'll try to take a pic.

I thought of another this weekend....I like how the climate control automatically goes in and out of recirc mode when the AC is on depending on the temp set, current cabin temp and sun load.

Wait you can change the background to your Factory NAV?

ElVee 07-08-2013 09:12 AM

I also like just walking up to the car and being able to unlock and turn it on without doing anything with a key. Other cars likely have this, but I've never had it before.

Also like the soft padding on the center console storage cover and the soft padding along the center control where my right knee rests. Absolutely appreciated.

Along with feel, I like how the steering wheel is tailored to pretty much any driving position, notches and bumps for whichever way you like.

ElVee 07-08-2013 09:15 AM

I turn off the locking beeps/honks on every car I use right away. I dislike and do not need the extra attention from silly noises my car makes. I can usually hear the locks engaging.

I remember reading that we *can* roll our windows up with the key fob, but it's never worked for me or I can't figure it out.

You CANNOT roll the windows UP without a modification

Take the valet key out, put it in the lock and turn it to "lock" and hold. That's the only way to roll up from outside.

I think he's referring to the different color schemes. I personally like the blue/white theme but it doesn't really look good with the red interior lights so I keep mine on the red theme.

Bking 07-08-2013 12:16 PM

I like how you can lock/unlock all doors by pressing the button in the trunk. This way the passenger won't have to wait for me to get to the driver's side to unlock the doors.

kfull 07-08-2013 06:13 PM

The backup camera. It's worth it's weight in gold IMO.

Tick64 07-08-2013 10:07 PM

SUPER minor, and I'm sure 99% of cars do this, but I recently discovered you can fold the mirrors in. I accidentally bumped into one and thought I broke it! Comes in handy in busy parking lot...and the car might even look a little sleeker when they're folded in lol.

No but you can roll them up if you take the key out of the fob and put in the door lock and turn and hold it. one way rolls it up and the other way rolls it down

YES! I was so bummed when I found out my 370 had LESS cool features than my 350.

And don't forget the oil pressure gauge.

raymondo510 07-09-2013 12:05 AM

I love parking my car at night, and walking away and looking back at it while my white lights are still on. My car is black so it looks mean yet kinda classy.

7419sundat 07-09-2013 02:49 AM

It's definately got to be SRM.. If that counts as a minor feature.

I have always wanted to write a letter to Nissan and ask them why they like to take away features that most car companies add in the newer models. I mean there is no reason to remove the dang TPS sensors and the digital speedo. I know it wasn't the best, but the 370 should have had an even better one. I love the Z and Nissan but come on! :ugh2:

You know what, I like that my lights turn off immediately when I close the doors
(For anyone wondering, this is a setting toucan change on the fly if you have Nav, supposedly the dealer can change the time for those folks who do not have Nav)

The perfect little thing for the parking garage when I go to Minneapolis.

No worries, friend. It took me a while after I had my Z to discover this. I know people laugh at me because I am a dinosaur/caveman at just 27 years old.

Probably because I will end up a disgruntled old man saying "...back in my day, folding mirrors were done with your hand! Not this voice-control 'abra-kadabra' crap! Sheesh...young people." :icon17:

I need to actually inquire about that next time I'm in. It bugs me when they're left on and I get paranoid.

I will definitely look into this (no Nav). After I turn the car off, I almost always switch the lights off the Auto setting then back to Auto which turns them off.

Personally I am glad it does not have a digital speedo. I think it gives it a sportier feel. I do not like luxury style sports cars with plush & all the gadgets, that is why I love the Z. I like the raw noisy feel of the car & the kinda of less is more type of approach in options.
While I can understand a lot of people who daily drive their Z's may see plenty of short comings, I did not buy mine for this purpose. I really wish I could get away from TPMS all together, but do to living in an ever growing Nanny state of a county were stuck with it until the end of days.

But hey that's just me. YMMV :tiphat:

I understand that point of view for sure. I just hate drivin by a state trooper thinking to myself "Ok I was somewhere between 70 and 80." I like being able to glance and know my exact speed but that's just me. I guess coming from the 350, I was spoiled with it. :p

A digital speedo would completely kill the Z. I wouldn't have bought one if the speedo looked any different?? I'd be in a C6 right now. What won me over is the Z interior. Which at the time superceded all interiors in it's price range. Today in 2013, this is more opinion than fact but, the Z is still the best sports car interior out there imho. In 2009, there was no argument. It was a fact.

Elan 07-09-2013 02:01 PM

Love the HUD. Favorite part of my buddies Vette. I know there are some units you can buy, but they use an ugly box that goes on the dash. At least that's what I noticed. Analog speedo it is!

Unknown, I'm talkin about what they did with the 350Z. Still have the analog speedo in the same place but place the digital speedo in one of the 3 center gauge compartments is. The clock doesn't need to be there. I know some people like the raw sports car look, but I do like a sense of modern luxury too. The fact the tach is the middle brings me the sports car feel anyways!

On another note, does anyone know why Nissan took away the 4 tire TPS sensor after the 06? That I cannot explain. I will give you 1000 internets to whoever can explain why they took that feature away.

Too many false alarms. Idiots would take their car to the dealer and complain when they didn't read the same.

You'd think they would be able to improve on it. My Camaro's is pretty accurate. Oh well a deal is a deal. I deposited 1000 internets into your computer. :tiphat:

:iagree: I think you guys are getting confused with what Elan is saying. The 350 had a digital speedo in place of the clock (which is completely useless especially if you have the nav unit which also displays the time directly bellow :shakes head:). But it also had an analog speedo in the same spot as the 370. I too was upset this no longer existed. I had a 350 about 6 years ago so I was spoiled as well. I also liked the TPS monitor feature too. But I'd rather have the 370 interior any day over the 350 so can't really complain too much :icon17:
