Default Dirty sock smell

I have had my z for about 2 months now. after a few rains i have noticed my car smells moldy kinda like dirty socks when i get in it. the other day it rained in the morning and mid day i rolled down my windows for a couple minutes to let the heat out. when i rolled them back up the windows had water all over them. so im guessing water is going down inside the doors and is molding. that is the only thing i can fiqure.

If you didn't accidentally leave your windows down or something, I would check the window and door seals with a garden hose if you can. You may just want to take it to your dealer - I assume it's still under warranty (I recommend RR Nissan and I recommend you avoid Town North).

My guess your carpet mats are dirty moldy and water to that mix Is just creating fungus making that nasty smell.

As others have suggested, your carpet/padding probably has some mold/mildew growing in it.

That's normal for the 370Z. As long as the water is not staying in the door, it shouldn't be a problem. Check the drain. If the water is not draining, that could allow mold to flourish.

keep the AC running on auto at all times.

as posted already, water inside the door is normal as long as it drains out at the bottom.

I have to ask, why?

I'm not a fan of turning on the AC. I can't stand the 1HP loss with the AC on

Moist carpets smell bad. BTW, I had to do a double take when I read the thread title.

it keeps the a/c evaporator mold free, and keeps your interior mold free, and keeps youself nice and cool.

all good things with a/c.
