And like it has been mentioned many times before, for an IRS setup to be better than a well sorted SRA, the geometry has to be right. There are more mediocre independent rear suspension setups out there than there are good ones.

How effectively a vehicle puts power down depends entirely on the setup and what that setup is designed to do. It really is that simple.

Just FYI, the 240sx is an IRS setup.

So let's do a quick mind exercise. Take that first 240sx, lean the rears out even more and make the stance super crazy, then build it so that has the same paper stats as a 5.0. Line them up, put them down a strip and then around a track. Who is going to win?

According to you, the 240sx will win....because IRS. To anyone with a pair of eyes, the 5.0 will destroy it.

You're wrong, Spikuh. Solid axles can't turn and 370Zs don't have to slow down for corners because IRS.

But he needs to take great care to only drive the Boss on flat surfaces with no turns, and to NOT slow down for turns in his NISMO as that is how both cars work.

Did you miss the point where I said with ALL things being equal? Equal means the same doesn't it? So why bring a 240SX and a 5.0 Mustang? Are they the same?

All things are pretty equal in the Continental Tire series and the Mustangs, M3s, Camaros, etc. all seem to go back and forth as far as who wins each race.

Some of us yes, but not all of us. For example some fanbois and myself made no such claim. Can we argue now?



But for the OP, if he is still around, if I had the option between a NISMO and a Boss....I would definitely have to get the McLaren P1.

Really though, its kind of a toss up, but I feel like I would lean towards the Boss a bit more just because of the better aftermarket and the better clutch/tranny.

That last picture is pretty telling. You can see the porsches and 370z are about to lap all of the Mustangs.
