How much or what mods will it take to put it, in that 400whp range?

Also any of you guys have made this transition from a gen coupe to a 370z and have any opinion?

I suggest spending a lot of time in the FI section of the forum to read up on some builds and going on a few test drives. You don't want to make an impulse decision that you regret later.

I definitely prefer the Z to the G-Coupe but also understand their appeal.

I know a local forum member who recently sold his Z and got into a Genesis w/ track pkg. He is enjoying the car but admits that he really misses his Z. Also, FWIW, he says this Z forum runs circles around the Genesis forum with more information, more frequent posting, and nicer people. He plans to stick around the Z forum for the community and entertainment

400whp will not be possible in the Z, currently, without going with boost.
Saying that, they are different cars so you might not feel the need for more power depending on your needs. You have to look at many factors from 2 v 2+2, suspension, power curve, brakes, etc.

You won't get more than 300-330whp (depends on the dyno) with bolt on's. Forced Induction is a different animal altogether as you probably know already. As with anything, your limit will be whatever you can afford. The parts and upgrades for the Z tend to be a bit more than most cars, so I'd keep that in mind if you're on a tight budget. A Twin Turbo setup will probabaly run you at least $10k-$15k depending on the kit and shop that installs it.

That is a broad question, have seen into the 600whp range but that will not last on a daily driven car. For a reliable everyday car with proper support mods, good install, tune you can be in the low 500 daily without much issue.

Your line of questioning leads me to think that you should move to a car that comes stock with a turbo. Unless you are simply bored of the appearance and handling characteristics of the genesis, the amount of money you will spend going FI (10k - 15k+) could be better spent on simply buying a fast FI sports car from the beginning.

Congrats on doing your research ahead of time and welcome to the forum.

That's true. You're close to M3 pricing at that point.

thanks all for your recommendation...

The reason i want to change, is because i want something more appropriate something that looks more serious, IMO the Z looks a bit more elegant than the Z

Now the other car i had on my list was the 335i, they have style, but the inside suckz, stock twin turbo than i believe can be easily pushed to the 500whp

Basically what im saying is, i want to get rid of my genesis, and get a GT-R but cant afford it, so looking for alternatives :P

The Z certainly has it beat in the looks department.

I think the 335i would be a better fit if you are chasing horses.

I remember when I was still looking for a car, the Z felt so much more special inside and outside than the Genesis coupes I was looking at. Have you test driven a 370Z yet? A supercharger will also get you to 400whp pretty easily if power is a large concern and you want a Z. It'd be a little bit cheaper than twin turbos.
There's also new C7 Corvette.

I was going to post the exact thing. Modding the Z for FI when coming from a pre-piped car will shock you. $15,000 in a 2.0gc coupe will round out your mods. $15,000 here will get you the parts, but not the work or suspension tunes etc... lol

I would strongly look at FI cars like the 135i and evo or look into a Z06 vette, unless you wanna drop $30,000 in a Z? lol

Let me add that 30k in a Z will build you a car that will be hard to defeat on a track, but it will cost you.

If they just fixed their transmission issues and swapped out iron suspension parts for QUALITY aluminum ones, we might be fvcked on a track??? The engine on the GC is underrated basedon shytty transmission build quality and overprotective tuning. Its a group of small things holding the GC back.

thats kinda another problem not many companies (actually none locally) work on genesis, and alot of them work on Z, so i spent close to 12k on my coupe, done all the work my self and im barely making it to 400 whp. I also looked at the cadillac CTS and it looks like a fun car to drive.

And no i have not driven a Z yet, im sure i will feel like is faster than my coupe, since it will have alooooooot more lower power...

Before the gen coupe i had a corolla and before that a 350z (which i misssss alooot) it was a bit ago that i had it but if i remember correctly it handle better than my gen, drif wise (sold it for economical reasons)
