I always felt like some people want the Z to be more than what it really is. In stock form, it's just a good compromise car. It combines power with agility. Think taking a 5.0 and a S2000 and putting them together... you get something like the 370Z.
Yes, it's not the fastest and it doesn't have the best handling, but it gives you just enough of both, IMO, to satisfy most people. This is something I never really appreciated until after owning both the 5.0 and S2000. Now, is it possible you can be the best at everything? Probably. I think the C7 might get close to that level... but it's going to be a $60K + car. For the money, the Z is a pretty good value for someone that wants a good GT-style car. Not a full-on sports car or a full-on power car, but rather a well put together combination of both. There are some small things I can nitpick over, but at the end of the day I appreciate it for what it is.
