Nissan service guy informs me (after some warranty work) that my resonator on the driver's side intake is "broken off" and it's "sucking air right through that hole". Well, sh1t, I have had smooth intake tubes installed on the car for 2 years - and it doesn't have a resonator at all - idiot.

Yes, it's all hooked up correctly. The post MAF tubes don't have the small resonator box hanging off the bottom of the driver's side intake.

Just got off the phone with service at Town North Nissan. The extra nice lady answering the phones needs to brush up on the Nissan line up :icon17:
Me: Can I please speak with a Service Advisor or Tech regarding a recall on my 370Z. Her: Is that 370V as in Victor? Me: No. It's Zulu. You know, one of the car models you guys offer... Her: I'm sorry, sir. I am still learning all of the models. Me: ... |
Maybe she was new?

this was not stupid but surprising to me :-)
When I bought my 370z nismo, the salesman told me that it would be costly to maintain that car. I asked him how costly? He told me, the oil change could run $80. My previous car was a Mercedes and every visit to the dealer would cost at least $200. |

When I was test driving Z's, I test drove a BC 2011 7AT at Pat Fischer Nissan in Titusville. They sat me down and I told them that I wouldn't pay more than $400/month and I wouldn't pay more than $20k for the car (I had trade ins). He comes back with the paper work, $645 monthly payment and $27k WITH my trade ins. I laughed and said send it back. He comes back with $550. Send it back. $490. Send it back. Finally the manager comes in and says ok I worked the numbers over just for you and got to $410, that's the best I can do. I smiled, said goodbye and got up to leave. He asks me why I'm passing up such a good deal. I told him that I didn't even like the car a whole bunch because it was automatic and I wanted manual. He said no this one IS manual, it's got the paddle shifters. I said I don't want paddle shifters, I wanted a MANUAL. He said that the paddle shifters was nissans new manual, and they didn't offer a physical stick anymore. He said that their version of automatic didn't have the paddle shifters anymore. I grabbed my keys off the sales guy's desk and told the manager that he had lost the sale because of his complete incompetence. He literally threw a business card in my face and said to call if I changed my mind. While he stormed out I overheard him say to another salesman "That fuckin faggot is whining and bitchin about a stick, (mumble mumble)".
The next day I called the owner of the dealership and told him what happened and he was appalled, told me he would deal with it. I just so happened that my next door neighbor had traded in a vehicle there and so I went with him to pick up his new truck. As I got out of the car out came the manager from before, carrying a box with all his stuff in it. I smiled and waved at him and told him good luck at his next job hahaha Sent from my iPizzle using magic and new-fangled science stuff |
Whenever you have a complaint for some dealers you can find them online on their Facebook or website and complain there. Unless they deleted theirs to avoid certain questions and etc :rofl2::tup:

stopped by buena park nissan on my way home from work to pick up some bolts.
i pull up in my pw z and the first sales guy i see rushes over to say: "That's a great lookin' GTR you got there...I didn't know they came in metallic blue.." i wasn't sure if he was joking. so with a blank stare, i got back in my car and left. |

Had a dealer tell me that I should get a 7AT instead because "it would be way more fun to drive since I wouldn't have to shift all the time"....

Haha most likely, or he REALLY needed to meet his quota. I mean if someone walks into your dealer and wants a 6MT, Sport + Touring + Nav- why would you suggest a base 7AT and proceed to say it's "more fun"...

Called the Nissan Service while my Car was stranded with a broken SLU.
Service Guy: What engine do you have? Me: Uhm, it's a 370Z.? A 3.7 Litre V6. Service Guy: Thanks, is it a Diesel or a Petrol Model? Me: :icon08: |
Towards the end of 2011 my Z had an ECU problem. At that point no one knew it was the ECU. To make long story short, they performed a fuel test. Results came back, they were saying "I filled up my gas tank with diesel more than once".
I said "Wow, Nissan is really doing wonders with the engines." "So you are telling me I have been using diesel instead of gasoline?" They said "yes you have" I said "No wonder why I'll be getting about 700 miles between fillups" and the engine was running just fine the whole time. I was getting a CEL for no reason until the ECU got replaced. |
Had the sales guy tell me the standard touring model came with the LSD and that Nissan "fixed" the overheating oil issue. He told me what I wanted to hear and that was his mistake. I knew exactly what was on the car just by glancing at it. I just wanted to know how full of $hit this guy was.
I wanted the car so I bullied the crap out of them until they knocked 8.5k off sticker. When the managers start getting pissed, you know you are getting a better than average deal. |

Once I was test driving a Z with sports package. While driving I was like "what is this button?" (referring to the sports button to activate SRM) and the dealer said "It's to activate the sports mode, basically it goes faster, like you press it if you have to pass someone quickly, but it consumes more fuel..". Me :wtf:
|
Apparently, because our 7AT's share paddles with the GTR, we have the same transmission.
My hometown's Nissan dealership is one of the "special" ones in class. |

Me: How much for that silver Nismo (new)?
Sales guy: *crazy price* Me: Ummmm...(I start looking at a MB SP 370Z there and KBB it with 2700 miles) Me: How much for this 370Z? Sales guy: 30k Me: (I look at my phone and KBB says 34k+ with current condition and miles) Me: You sure? Sales guy: yep! Me: Sold! |
"Yes we can add the factory nav to the base 370Z configuration."
"With $20k down and financing $10k your payments are $395/mo for six years. That includes GAP insurance and a waranty to dry clean your seats for you." "You don't like 22% interest rate? How about 17%? No? How about 9.99%?" |
:icon18:
wait so you mean buying my Z on my 29.9% credit card was a bad idea?? :roflpuke2: |
They were charging me for pin stripes...:shakes head:

When we were looking for the g/f's Z here are some of the great things that happened at the Nissan dealership in Deland.
#1) This car comes with the CVT transmission #2) The Magnum red is a great color 3#) Is that a 2014 Nismo you have? It has a different body kit. Me: Nope, its a 2010, its the same body kit. Them: No, they changed it was different in 2012 and now its the same as your body kit. and the biggest We were there for the national offer of 2,999 down and 209 a month for a 2013 base model with a few options, like floor mats, splash guards, etc. They gave us an estimate of $4500 in trade in, and granted the car was a almost 2k more than the base model listed in the deal. Somehow, the monthly payment went up to $300. When we asked for clarification on why the payment would go up almost a hundred dollars a month when the price only went up 2k and there was an extra 1.5k down for a difference of $500 dollars, the sales manager grew very irate. He told us that there were no vehicles like those listed in the ad. So I asked him if we gave him another $500 to get the price the exact same would it then get to the advertised price of $209? This is the short version, but the sales manager implied that this was not the dealership for us and not so kindly asked us to leave. The salesman also suggested we were wasting their time and were not serious. We went and bought a Z from another local dealer who was able to honor the national deal without treating us so poorly. |

The finance guy at the dealership we ended up buying from told us that when you put in the other dealer's info, they get sent something that more or less says here's proof that you lost a sale. Quote:

my dealer called and left a voicemail that i still owed money on my Z. which is completely wrong. i ignored it.
the dealer called the next day left a voicemail if i'd be interested in trading my Z in. i ignored it. the dealer called the next day left a voicemail if i still had my Z. i ignored it. the dealer called the following day, i picked up, he asked for me so i just answered 'happy holidays, may i take your order?' he hung up. lol :icon17: he never called back after that. |
1) Had the sales mgr. @ Mossy Nissan in Oceanside, Ca. tell me that the price I had seen in an Auto Trader ad was wrong (it was almost $4k below KBB) and he would have to charge me more. I then informed him that was against the law. I got it for $4k under KBB.
2) Also, had the same fool tell me that the 3rd party service contract he was pushing on me for $1900 was better than the factory Nissan plan…I took neither. |

If you bought the car there, they most likely had a nice laugh when you left. :) |
Every time I go to the dealer for Maint, my car comes back with only 30psi in the tires. This has happened 3 times now. After the second, I asked them to stop touching my tires. 3rd time, I asked them why they keep deflating them. Their reply "you have too much air in them". I said "no they are not, 35 is recommended by Nissan". They reply "Nissan doesn't always know what is best, and we do since we are maint". WTH? I always keep it at 35psi at each corner and check twice a month.
|
sounds like you paid their advertized sales price

Dealers DON'T lose money on used cars. Sometimes they may if they are stuck with a car or some other reason want to get rid off it. Also they are not worried about the "against the law" things because on auto trader & other places there's always something about in case of a printing error, bla, bla. Believe me, a dealer is involved in so many other serious games that your threat was just a joke for them. Nothing is wrong. You're both happy :) |
