saw this thread on a couple other forums and i got a kick out of it.

mine was at a used car dealer when i was about 19. lookin at an sti

Me: can we look at the STI out front?
dealer: that thing is twin turbo'd so we don't let anyone drive it
me: uhh actually i think that's just a single turbo (trying to be nice)
dealer: no i promise you its a twin turbo
me: i think you may be wrong on that one

(at this point the dealer raises his voice)

dealer: do you want me to pop the hood and prove it to you?!
*pops hood. proceeds to point to one side of intake mani, then the other*
dealer: see!? 1 and 2!
me: uhhh... ok i'm gonna leave now since you have no idea what's even on your lot

Tech: "Nice Skyline"

Me: "um, this is a stock 240sx"

Tech: "No, it has a skyline front conversion"

Another incident when my brother was looking to buy an S14 (he ended up getting a mint '98)

Brother On phone to dealer "just to make sure, it's advertised as a manual 5 speed is that correct?"

Dealer "Let me go look"

....5 minutes go by....

Dealer "Yep, 5 speed manual"

Brother drives 3 hours to go look at and hopefully puchase car

Dealer "here it is!"

Brother "That's a 4 speed automatic"

Drives 3 hours back home

His car now:

Also, when buying my Z, my dad was with at one dealer. Sales guy calls me a few days later, "you need to come buy this now, your dad will agree it is a good deal." My father heard that and started laughing while I was on the phone.
