Wow, I guess I'll have to watch what they want to charge me for services at the stealership. That's umm a little excessive. But, at least it's done and you don't have to worry about it.

Seriously folks it seems the majority of people on this list think their time is worth everything and someone else's nothing. I enjoy working on my cars, but that doesn't prevent me from having the dealer work on the Z as my time is valuable compared to trying to carefully lift the car without damaging the unibody frame rails

OP: price is fair for what they did. The only quibble I have and why I also don't get 'packages', is the fuel system additives they put in are 1) not needed if you use good detergent fuel and 2) over priced.

I am assuming MOA is short for motor oil additive? No idea what it is from that recept. 44K is that B44K fuel system conditioner?

That and an overpriced Nissan brake fluid are the only parts of the service that seem a high to me. 2 hours labor to check things, change oil and bleed brake system is reasonable to me, at an average of $100/hr for labor.

At any major service intervalI would simply ask for things specifically...then you can have them check off your book *after* the fact. Whatever is recommended, ask for oil, filters, brake fluid (if needed) and have them simply inspect stuff as needed. No additives etc...no 'premium packages'.

Stick to the book, you will save a few sawbucks

I don't know about you guys but my oil change is ~$20. This is at the dealer and they use the Kendall brand. Not all dealers have same prices though. I know that the other dealer that I don't go to anymore charges ~$40.

THIS

sometimes it isnt worth it to do things yourself, its cheaper when you have free time but when you dont, its inconvenient and sometimes a hassle if you're tired from working all day, or just dealing with life

there are things i would change regardless if i had time or not like check fluids, change wipers, ect. because it takes like 10 mins at most to complete those tasks, but i would never change oil, change brakes, change transmission fluid, ect. if i didnt have like a whole day off or something to complete those tasks because those take a while to complete

mine needed new wipers at 15k, but i bought Bosch wipers at my local auto store and changed them in the parking lot, i would never have the dealer change them though unless the labor was free and i was already at the dealer buying the wipers and the tech was going to change it right then and there so i can leave

Hehe, I was gonna say your dealer is priced pretty good for a 15k service. My local dealer told me $490. Reason I probably won't go to the stealer. That includes rotating and balancing the tires. Ester oil change is $80 here as well.

Getting back to the OP, they're shafting you...
Let's rattle off that list:
Brake service? What the hell does that mean? Your pads and rotors are FINE, if they're flushing brake fluid, that's a different story (I paid $75 for a GTR fluid flush)
Battery service?!?!?! Tell the dealer to
That's gotta be the BS of the century, the only thing they will do is hook it up to a machine and try to sell you a new battery... MAYBE they'll put water in it... MAYBE...
Checking out the trans... Again:
Tell the dealer to

You have an auto... You can't check ANYTHING, there is no dipstick, NOTHING, it's sealed...

Oil change, depends on oil... Wipers... $25 for both?

You have a 2009, so no in cabin air filter too, make sure they don't stick it to you on that

And they MIGHT suggest a differential flush, that's a 50/50, (you don't have the SP, so not worth it really) should cost $60-80 at the dealershit

PLEASE give me the number of this dealershit so I can call and cuss them out...

And if you have ANY questions, don't hesitate to call or text me: (310)eight nine three-4207

EDIT: I just saw the OP already did this...
Brother, the forum is here for questions like that, next time ask us FIRST, lol

I totally agree..the dealer check includes things like checking seat belts..an auto mechanic that I have a great deal of trust in told me he could do the same thing for half price...

I think dealers trade on fear..fear that unless you are using them some horrible thing might go wrong..
My son has an audi A4 and something went wrong...the dealer wanted $1200 ..he fixed it himself for under $400..and it took him only about an hour,.,..figured a trained audi mechanic could do the work in half that time..so exactly how much do they get per hour??

I'm sorry to hate on a forum sponsor...

But you're not really saving anyone any money... Inspect battery terminals? Flush coolant? Really? You're sticking it to the customer too...

OP. and anyone else... Just go a la carte in your services

Oil change
Brake fluid change
Diff fluid change
MAYBE M/T fluid if you beat on it

Lol, I agree, but if you want to be anal, sure

And if you're being taken to the cleaners getting quoted for $600...

What I said should be $300-400 at the dealer, and that's not a good deal, but you get peace of mind of the dealer I guess

Again, I did a GTR fluid flush at 20k miles and a PS fluid flush for $140 all said and done because I felt it needed the change

We pull almost identically what Nissan calls for their service maintenance intervals, minus charging dealership rates/prices, What you think may or may not be important is completely up to you. They're nothing more than glorified fluid change services; however just because there is a lot of "inspection" and "check" of this and that doesn't mean we charge 30 mins for each check nor does it really add up to your total cost, or what you would considering "sticking it to your customer"

Sure, want to come in and specify your own maintenance service? Of course, you can do whatever you'd like, we just stick to what Nissan suggests

Fair enough!
I really didn't want to bash on you guys, but yeah, if someone wants exactly what the dealer does, your price is better than theirs
And I'd rather support a forum sponsor over a dealershit
