Default 15K mile service price check

Took my Z to the dealer this morning for it's 15K mile service.

Got the premium service, their price was $386.00

seemed reasonable for a full scale checked which included brake service, battery service, oil change, new wipers along with checking out the trans, etc and pretty much everything.

Everything checked out good but does that price seem about right compared to what you guys get charged for the same service?

Thanks
Metal

updated with picture of the bill, they did replace the brake fluid....

^^^ What??? $80 for an oil change?!?!?!? What type of oil???

Getting back to the OP, they're shafting you...
Let's rattle off that list:
Brake service? What the hell does that mean? Your pads and rotors are FINE, if they're flushing brake fluid, that's a different story (I paid $75 for a GTR fluid flush)
Battery service?!?!?! Tell the dealer to
That's gotta be the BS of the century, the only thing they will do is hook it up to a machine and try to sell you a new battery... MAYBE they'll put water in it... MAYBE...
Checking out the trans... Again:
Tell the dealer to

You have an auto... You can't check ANYTHING, there is no dipstick, NOTHING, it's sealed...

Oil change, depends on oil... Wipers... $25 for both?

You have a 2009, so no in cabin air filter too, make sure they don't stick it to you on that

And they MIGHT suggest a differential flush, that's a 50/50, (you don't have the SP, so not worth it really) should cost $60-80 at the dealershit

PLEASE give me the number of this dealershit so I can call and cuss them out...

And if you have ANY questions, don't hesitate to call or text me: (310)eight nine three-4207

EDIT: I just saw the OP already did this...
Brother, the forum is here for questions like that, next time ask us FIRST, lol

A bit high. When I bought my Z the dealer gave me 5 dollar oil changes for the life of the warranty. I made sure to ask if the oil was Nissan recommended for the Z. He said it was.

While the car didn't come with a filter inserted. The filter compartment is there and you can add a filter. I don't know why Nissan just didn't put the filter in there "Year one." That's strange.

yep, asking after the fact does seem a bit ridiculous but I had made the appointment weeks prior so just went ahead with it.

5 quarts of ester based oil which cost about $40 and $40 for labor.... doesnt seem unreasonable, i could have put just regular mobile 1 oil in my car but i decided to spend the extra money on the ester oil

not really, it would have cost me about $40(a bit more because redline ester oil was about $8.50/quart) for 5quarts of redline engine oil, $10 for the filter, $10 for the oil catcher, and gas both ways so i can dispose of the used oil and purchase supplies

when reviewing the parts nissan used(which was only oil) it cost them $40 for oil, $10 for my filter i ordered online, and $40 for labor and it was convient because i work close to the dealer so i dropped off my car there before going to work, and picked up my car at lunch vs changing it myself i would have had to take time out of my day to change the oil

but you got a good deal

I never go by the 'Dealer Recommended' service - its a way to shaft you.

I look in the service manual and look at what needs to be done in there and even then I let my oil ride out to 5000 and not 3750.

To make things short, the Z really doesn't need anything but oil changes for the first 50k miles.

Hey OP, all the stuff they did to your Z, you could have done yourself. Take a look at the DIY (Do it Yourself) sections of this forum. Its all fairly easy and straight forward. You live in MD, and there's plenty of guys in the MID A section including myself, that will help you any way we can.

^While this MAY be true, a lot of the times people do not want to take any risk themselves, or they suck at tools... That's why I don't suggest that option, because I don't know the OP's situation

In any case, be happy they didn't shaft you for ALL the 15k service items (costs like $700)

But for the 30k, ask us first, lol
