I can collaborate the OP's experience, I've seen the azz-part of the cloth 2017 seats get "fuzzy" … like where your right butt cheek pocket is & as if you carry a thick wallet. The material "wears" and becomes "fuzzy". In my case, I just took portable fuzz remover (a real thing) and shaved the material back down & all is golden.
