These days being slowed by a Prius is just about a daily occurrence.

Nice write up.

Ah I wish it was Mulholland drive. This was around northern San Diego. I'm going to so a road trip up there when my 911 gets fixed.
And Porsche over GM!

op- i dont know why you are coming back to tell us comparisons about a boxster and 370Z.

i have a 370Z cause i wanted the Z. i dont really care about a boxster (or a cayman) or m3.

Lol! They really have becoming a problem lately!

And elmz, you won't be disappointed. Gone are the days that MT is the only fun way to drive. These new DCT's (especially Porsche) are the best thing since sliced bread. Oh and at least for the new 911's, they have a synchro rev match system like on our Z's.

Sorry to offend you?
A large part of this post was reaffirming that the Z is an amazing car as well as being better than the Boxster in many ways, and provides a feel that you pay for, much like how you pay for the feel of a Boxster. Idk about you but I like reading positive things like that about my car, especially when being compared to more expensive cars. If you don't care about the Boxster then there is no need to click on this thread.

But to answer your question kenchan I posted this thread because I felt like comparing the two similar cars. Either read it or leave it.

For a change on this forum. There's always apples to oranges comparos here. This one is actually apples to apples in spite of price differences

Thanks for the right up

I don't think there are any actual hardware differences between the Cayman and Boxster engines. I believe it is just an ECU change, making the difference between the two much less than a Nismo 370 and a Sport 370. I know for a fact that no one has chosen one or the other based off that 10hp..

But I agree, soft tops ruin the look of any car I've seen, but they are just suchhhhh a joy to drive. I really do think they have the best roadster for under 60K. But is the cayman the best coupe under 60Kish? I don't know..
Oh but the Z4 do have hard tops convertibles.

The only Porsches I would get are Cayenne GTS; 911 S, GT3, GTS; or a used Boxster Spyder with all the delete options (AC, small battery, radio, so on). Just my 2˘

If I hit lotto tomorrow. The first two cars going immediately in the stable will be a Nissan GT-R and a Porsche 911 turbo. Then I'd order a Ferrari 458 Italia.

The porsche cayman is a weird car to me. I love it... From Style, ergonimocs, seat positioning and feel. I just think that Porsche should have found a way to keep repair costs down, and to keep the cost from rising above $60k.

The z may be crude and coarse compared to a Cayman but it's fun, cheap and can perform on the same level. If I were to spend the more realistic cost of $70+k for a porsche cayman S. I would look at other cars instead. the Corvette Z06 BMW M3 or even an entry 911, which offer what i consider a next level performance experience.
No doubt the cayman is refined and better balanced sports machine by comparison to a Z. Just not worth double the Z price.
