Did you get an aftermarket part for the CSC issue? If not, expect it to happen again and often until you upgrade. Also, make sure your new steering lock is a recent rev. You might want to consider pulling the fuse anyway.

For the CSC, Nissan payed for it. I didnt want to pay for an aftermarket one (which worked out because there no way I wouldve afford this issue and the Steering lock repair). I will wait until its close to the year or 12k miles warranty and probably replace it.

As for the Steering Lock, First I will ask which model was used to replace the lock, if it's one that's going to have an issue I might pull the fuse close to the year or the 12000k miles.

Well don't give up on her yet. It's frustrating, I know. I consider selling mine at least once a month. Good luck!

My 09 was brand new, and so far I've had zero problems with it. (36K miles). This is exceptional, and unexpected.

Going on now into its 4th year, I know I'll have to do brakes sometime this spring. That's about it.

When you buy ANY car used, there's always a question of how the previous owner(s) treated it. Buying "certified" from a dealer isn't much of a guarantee, as you found out. But the car is basically OK.

Incidentally, in my research prior to buying, I noted the car was pretty much run-of-the-mill as far as exotic performing parts. Same engine as the G37, etc. etc. It's the configuration/assemblage in a light small frame that gives us the extra enjoyment, the enhanced value.

Find a competent mechanic to go over your car in depth looking for the types of problems you might expect. (This is what you might have considered investing $100 in back when you bought your used car.)

Good luck!

my local dealerships told me around $5 for oil change if I bring my own oil and filter

My problem is that these problems are not rare, it seems that every 09/10 370z will have this issue at some point unless they take out the fuse or cut the wired to the steering lock. Nissan recall the same issue on 09 GTR's why not 370Z's doesn't seem fair but hopefully for me after going through these things is smooth sailing.

Just (hopefully) solved an annoying rattle in the hatch. 99% sure it's one of the 3rd brake light alignment bars that rubs against it's alignment hole. Went to a shop here and got some rubber grommets to prevent the contact and keep it centered. After going for a drive, the vibration was minimal, and I'm sure after I put on the trim panel, it will be muffled enough to be inaudible in the cabin.

(This doesn't appear to be a manufacturing defect, I had my hatch removed/painted for my wing install and the bars seem to have had at some point some foam or some other material that was used for this that got removed in the process.)
