Default from a evo x to a z...few questions

This weekend i traded my 2011 evo x in for a z and i love it but there are some things i am unsure of any insight would be great. Clutch feels horrible feels like the spring or something is rubbing when i press it and release it is this normal? Clutch/flywheel chatter from a stop in 1st at low rpms normal?

Any help would be great...i cant seem to get a nice clean shift sometimes seems to be jerky alot.

First of all, welcome to the Family.. Now regarding your question.. Start by reading on the following thread. You should get the helper spring, many of us including me are using it and its one of the cheapeast/enjoyable mods.

Clutch pedal too soft/no feel? Remove the helper spring!

Cheers!

Yes, stck clutch chatters, the flywheel I still 33 lbs tho. And yes, there is a spring in the clutch. You can remove it, replace with a new clutch helper spring, or buy the rjm clutch pedal.

Both normal. I would like to replace my spring as well and eventually the clutch/flywheel for a lighter one... I don't mind the noise as long as I know nothing is wrong with it

Yeah the clutch takes some getting used to. It loud and clunky, but it reminds you that you are driving a real mans sports car. None of the clutch delay BS on BMWs. It really takes some skill and precision to drive this one smoothly. Once you get it down, go let that friend that we all have who swears up and down that they are a better manual driver than Michael Schumacher. You will embarrass them.

I think you made a great choice. Yes, no more rear seats, but she looks a hell of a lot better than the Evo. Enjoy the car!

I too made that same switch and I tracked both cars fairly regularly. Although I have posted times 2-5 seconds faster at each track in my previous Evo X (w/ SST). I feel like my driving skills have improved dramatically in the Z. Welcome to the Z fam. Enjoy!

If the Evo came in a 2 door my dream would have came true.
